Ma Yuan didn't want to understand until his death: Why didn't the leader like me?
Originally, Liu Xiu was very fond of Ma Yuan, because Ma Yuan was almost a perfect existence.
1. Big handsome guy (bright beard, picturesque eyebrows).
2. After the famous door. The ancestors were the famous Warring States general Zhao Hao (Zhao Hao's title was "Ma Fu jun", and his descendants took Ma as their surname), and the Ma family was a high-ranking official; during the Wang Mang period, the 4 brothers of Ma Yuan were all zhengbu.
3, good eloquence, positive energy. As soon as Ma Yuan opened his mouth, he went up to Liu Xiu and down to the hundred officials, and directly became a fan (idle in the right, the smeller is not tired of hearing). Ma Yuan's golden sentences are:
The boy was to die in the wilderness, and the body of the horse was wrapped in horse leather and buried with ears.
In today's world, not only do kings choose their subjects, but their subjects also choose kings.
Husbands are ambitious, poor should be strong, old should be strong.
Drawing a tiger is not an anti-dog.
4, will make money, will spend money. When Ma Yuan was a child, he did not like to read, went to livestock, and made a fortune in a few years. He said: Money is earned and spent, otherwise what is the difference between it and the scrooge (whoever cultivates property, you can give it charity, otherwise you can keep the money and ears)? Most of the money he earned from his life in business and officialdom was distributed to his family and subordinates.
5. God of War. Ma Yuan fought all his life and was never defeated. Moreover, he is good at various classes of troops and all kinds of terrain combat. Infantry, cavalry, water troops, deserts, plateaus, mountains, Jiangnan water towns, tropical rainforests, all OK. He was also the first military sandbox user in history and was Liu Xiu's most admired master of tactics.
6. Founding Hero. Liu Xiu pacified the northwest, and Ma Yuan was a great hero.
7. National heroes. Ma Yuan fought the Huns and crossed the toes (Vietnam). After leveling the toes, he erected a copper pillar in the local area with 6 big characters: Copper pillar folded, cross toe extinguished. The toe-toed people did not dare to destroy the copper pillar, so they smashed it with bricks and tiles, and over time, the copper pillar became a hill (every time the Yue people passed it, they threw it with tiles and stones, and they became hills).
8. Good leadership. Ma Yuan, as an official, grasps the big and lets go of the small, and fully delegates power. Subordinates come to report on their work, and he often says: Don't bother me with your own work. Remember, I only care about the people's livelihood and the military. Don't delay Lao Tzu from eating, drinking and having fun!
(Aiding the letter of grace, leniency, and the appointment of officials, but in general.) Guests are dead, and the sun is full of doors. Zhu Cao Shi Bai foreign affairs, aid yuan: this beggar, the responsibility of the thief, he is troubled. Rather mournful Lao Tzu, making the voyage. If the big surname invades the small people, and the Qiang want to travel away, this is too guarded. )
9. All-rounder. Ma Yuan not only knows how to fight wars, become officials, do business, write poetry, tell stories, but also understand finance. In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the currency system was chaotic and the economy collapsed. Ma Yuanli defied public opinion and proposed a unified currency, so the economic order of the Eastern Han Dynasty became regular (the world depended on it).
All in all, Ma Yuan is a super excellent, super charismatic, and leader super favorite person.
I am so good, why does the leader suddenly dislike me?
(Actually, Ma Yuan himself felt sudden.) )
This has to start from the most beautiful time of Ma Yuan.
In 44 AD, Ma Yuanping returned to Beijing.
Yang Guowei is thousands of miles away, and this credit is absolutely great. Therefore, Ma Yuan was heavily rewarded:
Fengxin Marquis, three thousand households;
One ride on the military parade;
When the Central Committee meets, the first row is seated (to see the Ninth Secretary).
Ma Yuan was very proud, put on a feast, rewarded the three armies, said: Since I was a child, my family has been saying that "my ambition is too big, the goal is too high, it will be too hard", and now, with the help of everyone, my ideal has finally come true.
The generals of the three armies shouted: Long live General Ma (long live the officials)!
Although "long live" was not yet the emperor's exclusive vocabulary at that time, it was not a common word used by ordinary people. You know.
Ma Yuan was very excited and encouraged, and said: The eldest husband died on the battlefield and Ma Ge wrapped his body and returned. You can't lie on the merit book and eat and wait to die. I want to make a new contribution and fight the Huns.
(Aid: Fang Jin Xiongnu, Wu Huan Shang disturbed the north, want to ask themselves to attack, the boy should die in the border field, with the body of Ma Ge and bury the ear, how can he lie on the bed, in the hands of the son and woman evil!) )
He forgot that Liu Xiu's greatest national policy was to retire from meritorious service and enter the civil service (for details, see "Liu Xiu: Monopolizing Various Internal Infighting"). The leaders will consider who not to use whom, when and how to use it; otherwise, famous generals such as Deng Yu, Jia Fu, and Geng Yi (yǎn) will not be at home with their babies.
After returning to Luoyang to rest for a few months, Ma Yuan did indeed take the initiative to ask for battle.
Liu Xiu was very passive.
Disagree, hurt Ma Yuan's enthusiasm and face. Agree, what about the face of the Nanyang Gang and the Hebei Gang? What should be done with the national policy of retiring meritorious servants into civilian officials?
Of course, Liu Xiu is Liu Xiu after all, he gave Ma Yuan enough face and vigorously walked through the motions.
Send horses to the north to fight the Huns;
Order hundreds of officials to set up a feast to send off;
Six months later, Ma Yuan was recalled.
The Huns were all cavalry and loved to fight guerrillas. Half? The Huns' horse butts were not necessarily visible.
It was originally a matter of great joy for everyone, but during this period, Ma Aid did something that made many people unhappy.
When the Hundred Officials set up a banquet to send Ma Yuan to fight the Xiongnu, at the wine table, Ma Yuan educated Liu Xiu's two secretaries (Huang Menlang) and Liang Song and Dou Gu, the juniors of the Northwest Gang:
Man, the higher you climb, the heavier you fall. Today the rich are rich, and tomorrow they may be poor. Remember what Shu said today, if you want to keep rich forever, you must be strict with yourself.
This can poke the honeycomb.
1. Offended Liang Song and Dou Gu.
Liang Song, son of Liang Tong, the big man of the Northwest Gang; Dou Gu, nephew of dou Rong, the big man of the Northwest Gang. The two also have a common identity: Liu Xiu's horse and secretary, Liu Xiu's favorite junior.
You are an old immortal, and you actually gave us a lesson in front of a hundred officials? Moreover, this is the third time that you have upset us (the other two times see the Book of later Han and the Biography of Ma Yuan)!
2. Offended the Northwest Gang boss behind Liang Song and Dou Gu.
The Northwest Gang is divided into two factions:
The Hexi faction, led by Dou Rong and Liang Tong, had a large number of people;
The Tianshui faction, led by Ma Yuan, was weak (which is also the main reason why Liu Xiu liked Ma Yuan).
Dou Rong, the Grand Sikong (Zhengguo-level), was just dismissed, and the Fubo general Ma Yuanzheng was red. Originally it was a sensitive period, you educated my children in front of hundreds of officials, what do you mean?
3. Offended hundreds of officials, including the Nanyang Gang, the Hebei Gang, and the Civilian Officials Clique.
They are all serving the people, so why are you proud of the spring breeze? Go out to fight a Hun, but we have to set up a banquet to send off? He also educated Liang Song and Dou Gu in front of us, who do you tell them to? Who do you show it to? Villains get their way!
4. Offended Liu Xiu.
Liu Xiu disliked his subordinates the most, and he did not like the founding heroes to interfere in the government affairs. Let you fight the Huns, is to take a form. Do you still speak in front of the hundred officials? Do you really think you are the big brother of the Northwest Gang and the head of the Hundred Officials?
Therefore, the result of Ma Yuan's public education of Liang Song and Dou Gu is that -
Liu Xiu: How old are you?
Hundred Officials: How old are you?
Northwest Gang: How old are you?
Second Generation: How old are you?
Maybe it was triumphant, maybe it was the hero's informality, maybe he really didn't treat Liang Song and Dou Gu as outsiders, anyway, Ma Yuan dug a big pit for himself but didn't know it.
After another 3 years, the barbarians of Wuling Commandery (in present-day Western Hunan and Qiandong) rebelled. Liu Xiu successively sent the generals Liu Shang (a disciple of the Clan Chamber) and Ma Cheng (a big gangster of the Nanyang Gang) to suppress the rebellion, but both failed.
The 63-year-old Ma Yuan once again took the initiative to ask for battle.
Liu Xiu did not promise: You are old, take the baby at home.
Ma Yuan put on his horse in armor and showed Liu Xiu a good old man on the spot.
Liu Xiu smiled and said: "What an energetic old man, all right."
Therefore, Liu Xiu appointed Ma Yuan as a marshal, and Ma Wu (the big brother of the Nanyang gang leader) and Geng Shu (the younger brother of the Hebei gang leader Geng Yi) as deputy generals, and sent troops to suppress the rebellion.
As soon as the list was announced, Ma Yuan was a little unhappy, and he said to his friends: I am old, and I often worry about not having the opportunity to be loyal to the country. Now that I finally got what I wanted, even if I died in battle, I was blind. But it's not easy to team up with these people.
Sure enough, after the army arrived at Wuling, Ma Yuan and Geng Shu had serious differences on the route of the march. After the two men's opinions were reported to the central authorities, Liu Xiu agreed to Ma Yuan's plan.
However, the war was very unsmooth.
The barbarians held on to the danger, and the Han army could not attack for a long time. Coupled with the extreme heat of the weather, the outbreak of plague in the army, and the excessive casualties of soldiers. Ma Yuan was also infected, but still dragged the sick body, inspecting the camp and boosting morale.
The soldiers were moved to tears (and could not help but weep for it).
Geng Shu laughed excitedly: You have finally made a mistake!
Falling into the well and officially starting.
Geng Shu and his brother Geng Yi (The Eastern Han version of Han Xin) complained to Liu Xiu, accusing Ma Yuan of making mistakes in decision-making, delaying fighters, and fearing the enemy like a tiger.
Liu Xiu was furious and sent Liang Song to the front to investigate Ma Yuan, and served as a supervisor of the army.
When Liang Song arrived, Ma Yuan was seriously ill and died. Liang Song seized the opportunity to submit an investigation report that was very unfavorable to Ma Yuan.
Liu Xiu was furious and announced the revocation of Ma Yuan's marquis, but did not announce Ma Yuan's "crime".
The large-scale fall of the well has officially begun.
Someone reported that when Ma Yuanping returned to Beijing, he pulled back a large cart of rare treasures (in fact, it was a cart of barley yì rice. Ma Yuan ate at the cross-toe, and felt that he could strengthen his body and resist miasma, so he brought a car back).
Ma Wu, Hou Yu (yù) and other ministers also wrote letters to report Ma Yuan (the content is unknown).
Liu Xiu fury +2.
The Hebei Gang (Geng Yi, Geng Shu) struck;
The Nanyang Gang (Ma Wu) took a shot;
The Northwest Gang (Liang Song) took a shot;
The civilian official clique (Hou Yu was the son of Hou Ba, the Great Situ) took the shot.
No one spoke justice for Ma Yuan, except for a quiet retired county magistrate Zhu Bo (a friend of Ma Yuan's brother).
After Ma Yuan's body was transported back to Luoyang, the Ma family was too frightened to return to their hometown for burial, so they buried Ma Yuancao in the west of Luoyang City. No one dared to come to his funeral.
Ma Yuan's wife and family tied themselves up and went to the palace to plead with Liu Xiu. Liu Xiu then showed Liang Song's investigation report (the specific content is unknown) to the Ma family.
For the results of the investigation, the Ma family was not satisfied, and wrote to the book six times to cry out for Ma Yuan.
Liu Xiu did not care.
Ma Yuan, a generation of famous generals and patriotic heroes, walked away so inexplicably and inexplicably.
The death of Ma Yuan became the most controversial event in history.
Critics of Liu Xiu have the following views:
Meanness;
Old fools;
Suspicion;
Play politics and let the hero shed blood and tears.
Those who criticize Ma Yuan have the following views:
Rely on the old to sell the old, bully and proud;
Gong Gao Zhen Lord;
Good joy;
I don't know where to go.
It was not until Emperor Zhang of Han (the third emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty and grandson of Liu Xiu) succeeded to the throne that the imperial court posthumously made Ma Yuan the Marquis of Zhongcheng and quietly rehabilitated him.
Why low-key? Because no one dared to question and overturn Liu Xiu's handling opinions.
Why rehabilitation? Because Ma Yuan gave birth to a good daughter.
After Ma Yuan's death, the Ma family, in order to protect themselves, offered to send Ma Yuan's three beautiful daughters to the palace to serve the crown prince. Ma Yuan's 13-year-old daughter (name unknown) was chosen.
Ma Xiaomei is very powerful. She was 10 years old when Ma Yuan died. Her mother was insane due to excessive grief, and 10-year-old Ma Xiaomei took charge of housekeeping and took good care of it.
After Ma Xiaomei entered the palace, because of her knowledge and talent, she was deeply loved by the crown prince Liu Zhuang (Emperor Ming of Han) and empress Yin Lihua. After Liu Zhuang succeeded to the throne, Ma Xiaomei was made empress. After Liu Zhuang's death, Ma Xiaomei's adopted son Liu Ju (dá) succeeded to the throne as Emperor Zhang of Han.
The Ma family was revived again and became one of the four major foreign families of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Finally, an Easter egg: Ma Yuan's descendants, famous for: Ma Teng, Ma Chao, Ma Yingjiu.
