The recent facebook zuckerberg renaming meta (metacosm) completely detonated this long-dormant trillion market - metacosm. It also triggered everyone's thinking about the future, is it the "metaverse", or the "spaceship interstellar flight"?
At the Facebook Connect developer conference in the early morning of October 29, Beijing time, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced in a high profile that the company's name will be changed to "meta" to focus on shifting to an emerging computing platform dominated by virtual reality. And the company's stock code "fb" was changed to "mvrs", effective December 1. Zuckerberg said that from now on, we will put the metaverse first, not Facebook first.

A short piece of news directly detonated the market. There are related concept stocks that are tied to the meta-universe that continue to soar, among which Zhongqingbao directly doubled because of the release of the news to make a meta-universe game. Why is the market so hot?
I believe that everyone has seen, or understood a hot global movie "Ready Player One", the protagonist in the war years, as long as you wear a helmet, you can immerse yourself in another world, fully immersed in a virtual world, in that world you can do anything you want, want to fly in the sky, want to fight with guns, completely unrestrained, but also let yourself experience the different feeling of "opening and hanging yourself". Earlier people should also have the impression that it is like in the movie "The Matrix", which can be immersed in another world.
So the metaverse is like this, the metaverse of English metavalse, is composed of vr (virtual reality), ar (augmented reality) and other 3D technology and the Internet. By deceiving your senses, you are completely into another world. Those who like to watch anime should know that the anime "Sword Art Online" is actually the case in the metaverse, allowing you to live in another world as another identity.
Everyone should know about Elon Musk. Musk is a true spaceship faction.
Musk announced plans to colonize Mars at the end of November 2012. At that time, it was a sensation around the world, everyone thought that he was crazy, how could this kind of thing be something that he could do alone? And at that time, Musk's spacex company, even to build a rocket is difficult, built a rocket that will fly a few seconds to explode, you say that with this kind of thing to fly Mars, is it a bit funny?
But Musk is really in 2020, really built a rocket that can fly, and in 2021, it will be at the top of the global rich list, and it will sit at a position worth $302 billion, far exceeding the second-place bald Bezos's $100 billion net worth. The man who once spoke wildly could really achieve the Mars colonization plan.
Now the situation is clear. One is the "Metacosm faction" led by "Zuckerberg the LizardMan", and the other is the "Spaceship Faction" led by "Martian Musk". Both are the founders of trillion companies, no less well-known in the world than a president, but with diametrically opposed attitudes in their choices.
The Metaverse sect chooses to seek development inward. To think that one can immerse oneself in another world is to create another "utopian" world. Very similar to the well-known paradox, the brain in the vat.
The brain-in-the-tank theory is the hypothesis elaborated by Hillary Putnam in his 1981 book Reason, Truth, and History.
The author puts it this way: "A man (who can be assumed to be yourself) was operated on by an evil scientist, and his brain was cut off from the body and put into a tank containing nutrients to keep the brain alive. The nerve endings of the brain are connected to a computer that programs messages to the brain so that he can keep everything completely normal. For him, it seems that people, objects, and the sky still exist, and their own movements and physical sensations can be input. The brain can also be input or intercepted by memory (memory of brain surgery is taken out, and then entered into various environments and daily life that it may have experienced). He could even be typed into code and 'felt' that he himself was reading an interesting and ridiculous passage of text here. ”
This is the act of deceiving the senses and experiencing another world. In this regard, Liu Cixin, author of "Three-Body", said: He is not optimistic about the future of the metacosm.
And it also said that if human beings realize a realistic virtual world metaverse before moving towards space civilization, then human civilization will form a closed loop, thus stagnating and eventually dying.
As a science fiction author, Liu Cixin writes novels about Star Trek science fiction works, so it is understandable to support the "spaceship faction", and this sentence "thus stopping and eventually going to extinction" has triggered people's thinking about these two things, how should human beings go?
The spaceship faction is actually in a dilemma, although it is exploring the vast starry sky, but humans seem to be trapped. If there is no invention that can cross the wormhole, or fly tens of thousands of light-years in an instant, then in human history, whether it can get out of the Milky Way is an unknown problem, is it necessary for humans to be trapped in this milky way, and other galaxies cannot go? This may only be answered by our descendants, or perhaps we will not be able to come up with a definite answer in our lifetime!
So do we seek sensory stimulation inwards– the metaverse, or do we continue our asceticism – the Spaceship Faction?
Author I actually joined an ar/vr company in 2019, the vr/ar concept actually broke out a long time ago, and I joined that company at that time, and also played large and small VR/AR products, including my personal graduation thesis is also about VR/AR articles.
In fact, the current VR/AR products are not very mature, and there is no sense of immersion in playing. Most of them are just a concept product, play a lot of games, but many games are actually the same, in fact, the essence of the reason is that the current technology is still not perfect, as a small game occasionally experience is still good, or lying in bed to watch a movie is still good.
But for games like Sword Art Online, The Matrix, and Ready Player One, there is still a long way to go, and whether it can develop such an immersive game is still a problem, not to mention buying an immersive dress that can make you feel, the difficulty is still not small. After all, in the game, many touches cannot be perceived, so the word "immersion" is completely out of the blue.
So this is the turning point, if there are more people who support the metacosm, then the world will seek inward development, for spaceflight, the task of exploring the vast starry sky, less investment, it will become more difficult. But if you choose the Spaceship Faction, then you have to endure the galaxy that may have no end in sight, and you will never be able to go out for a lifetime.
As many people didn't realize in the winter of 2019, this pandemic can affect the world for so long. Just like now, no one realizes how your choices will work for future development.
Which of these two trillion markets do you support?
