At first glance, it is difficult to link the slightly shy and restrained Dawa to the geological survey work in the field. But in the conversation, the love and persistence she showed for her job was awe-inspiring.

"People say that men are afraid of entering the wrong line, women are afraid of marrying the wrong man, since I entered this line, I have also married the desolation and loneliness of the plateau, but I have never regretted it, I have given my youth to the plateau." 」 Since graduating in 1999 at the age of 21, Dawa has been in the Geothermal Geology Brigade of the Tibet Autonomous Region Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development for 22 years.

Water quality testing and analysis, geotechnical engineering survey, geothermal resource development, geological disaster investigation...... More than 20 cold and summer exchanges, in the plateau above 4500 meters above sea level, everywhere left the mark of Dawa's youth, she used sweat and enthusiasm to express her strong love for geological work and hometown. Up to now, the projects she has led have created more than 70 million yuan in economic benefits, making outstanding contributions to Tibet's economic and social development.

"Our team members have been wandering at high altitudes all year round, they can't take care of home at all, sometimes it's March when they go out, and it's already November when they come back, and many of them still have high-altitude heart disease and arthritis." As the only female member of the geological brigade, Dawa often works in the field like gay men, and it has become common for her to eat and sleep in the wind.

One day in May 2000, Dawa went with the team to the dangxiong county mineral water point at an altitude of 5100 meters to take samples and tests, as the altitude continued to rise, Dawa did not expect that her native Tibetans had a serious altitude sickness, the back of the head hurt almost exploded, people began to vomit, and their hearts only looked forward to completing the task as soon as possible. With this experience, Dawa felt the hardships of geological work, and once the team had a business trip, Dawa took the initiative to replace the unwell team members.

As an important strategic resource reserve base of the country, Tibet requires a lot of basic investigation and research. In the long-term field geological work, Dawa has devoted herself to the study of professional technology, the advanced technology is widely used in geothermal resources survey, geological disaster survey and other fields, has participated in the hot field, geological environment monitoring, the whole region mineral water survey, Mayumu gold mine and other projects of water sample testing and shajin analysis work, submitted more than 1,000 various types of analysis reports, detection data accuracy rate of more than 98%.

"At present, Tibet's geological work is in a period of transition, and our goal is to use modern geological science and technology to benefit more people in our hometown." Dawa said.

In 2018, Dawa led the team to undertake the geothermal resource survey project in Xigaze City, Tibet, covering 18 counties and districts in Xigaze. The local geothermal resources are abundant, but they have not been well developed. The surrounding people even have to go to the far mountain spring mouth to pick up the water for domestic use, and the masses can only take a hot bath to the county seat 70 or 80 kilometers away.

When the local quality brigade came to Angren County to explore a geothermal resource, it was opposed by the local people, because some people were worried that the exploitation of minerals would damage the ecology. Dawa and the team members can only patiently explain over and over again, and coordinate repeatedly. But when the project was completed, the hot spring water was brought to the village, and the masses learned that the next step would be to solve the problem of heating the masses, and the whole village spontaneously came to offer them a grateful Hada.

Over the past 22 years, Dawa has continuously innovated in practice, and has widely applied advanced technology to geothermal resources survey, geological disaster survey and other fields, and she has gradually grown into the project leader of the Geothermal Institute of the Geological Brigade and a senior engineer of hydraulic ring geology. On the eve of This year's "May Day" International Labor Day, she won the "National May Day Labor Medal". In the face of reporters, she modestly said: "My work is very ordinary, and the little achievements I have made today are inseparable from the cultivation of the party and the country. ”
