Iagu is an older officer under Othello, and is scheming, because Othello promotes the young officer Casio to adjutant general, and suspects that Othello likes his wife, Josdemona's maid Amelia, so he holds a grudge and designs revenge and frames him. He urged Catherio to indulge in alcohol, and instigated trouble, provoking Osello to remove Caesio from his position as deputy general, and persuading Casio to go to Desdemona, asking her to intercede for him in front of Othello, and using a piece of rhetoric to make Othello suspect that his wife had an affair with Caysio and eat vinegar.
Finally, he had his wife, Emilia, steal the handkerchief that Othello had given her from Desdemona, deliberately throw it where Kesio passed, let him pick it up, and hint to Othello that the handkerchief was given to Casio by Desdemona. Step by step, he sets a trap for Othello, who thinks his wife is unchaste and strangles her to death.

From believing in Desdemona's fidelity to doubting Desdemona's chastity and motives for love, he finally completely denies Tessimon's love, and thinks that Desdemona is a prostitute who can do her best, and then kills her, causing desdemona's tragedy and his own tragedy.
