The lesson of Shakespeare's play Othello is that trusting each other can create a better world

The life of mixed sorrow and joy is a life as colorful as a rainbow, and it is also a life as sour and sweet as jumping candy. And the sentiments contained in Shakespeare's plays are often bitter and sad.

Othello is one of William ▪ Shakespeare's four tragedies, revolving around the protagonist Othello and his wife Desdemona, telling the story of doubt and trust in love.

Othello was a valiant member of the Venetian Principality who fell in love with desdemona, the daughter of the Senator. Since Othello was black, his marriage was not allowed, so he had to marry Desdemona privately. Under Othello, there is a sinister and cunning flag officer, Iagu, who is bent on getting rid of ▪ Othello and discrediting Othello.

Iago deliberately informs the Senator (Desdemona's father), but indirectly facilitates the marriage of Othello and Desdemona. As a result of the Turkish attack on Cyprus, Othello was ordered to lead the army to battle, accompanied by Desdemona. Iaeagou tried his best to stir up the feelings between Othello and Desdemona, and openly and covertly publicized the unclear relationship between Vice Admiral Cassio and Desdemona, and forged objects such as promise letters.

Under the persistent provocation and exaggeration of Iaeagu, Othello listened to his lies, believing that his wife Desdemona had deceived and betrayed him, so he strangled his wife in anger. Later, Othello learned the truth, it turned out that he had wrongly blamed his wife, and in remorse, he drew his sword and killed himself, falling next to Desdemona.

It's a tragedy, a tragedy that hurts the heart. At first, Othello and Desdemona were a pair of gods and immortals, but because of the provocation of lies and the bombardment of rumors, the two gradually changed from companions to strangers. And Othello's stubborn suspicion is the fuse that brings this pure relationship to an end.

For Desdemona, she hadn't actually done anything wrong, but only interceded for Vice Admiral Cassio out of good intentions, hoping that Othello would forgive cassio who had lost his temper after drinking. Perhaps until the last moment of her life, Desdemona could not defend herself, because the occurrence of an event is objective, and people use their thinking consciousness to judge its good or bad pros and cons subjectively. Once a realization is deeply rooted in a person's mind, it is difficult to change and redeem.

With a little more trust and less doubt, such a tragedy would have been entirely possible to avoid. Not only husband and wife, friends, colleagues, father and son get along daily, but also always uphold the principle of integrity, be frank, keep calm, do not listen to other people's rumors at will, and have their own thinking and judgment in everything.

In the final analysis, all judgments and decisions are up to us, not others or hearsay. No one is an island, and we need to deal with all kinds of people in life, and we will also know all kinds of temperamental people and experience strange things. In the midst of all these changes, what remains unchanged should be the cherishing of goodness, the respect for integrity and the adherence to principles.

Although Iagu is a despicable villain who drums his lips and tongues and manipulates right and wrong in the play, he has no lack of sober understanding of people's will, thoughts and impulses:

strength! Nonsense! We want to do this and that, only on our own. Our bodies are like a garden, and our will is the gardener in this garden; whether we plant nettle, plant lettuce, plant hyssop, pluck thyme, or cultivate a single plant, or plant the whole garden so that it is ruined, or cultivate it to the end, or cultivate it diligently, the power lies in our will. If in our lives reason and lust are not balanced, the evil hearts of our flesh and blood will lead us to a ridiculous end; but what we have is reason, which can dilute our surging enthusiasm, the stimulation of the flesh and the unrestrained lust.

People's emotions and thoughts are constantly changing throughout the day, year, and even throughout life. Whether everything will go in a good direction or a bad one has a lot to do with our own inner thoughts and external behavior. Everyone should be the master of their own will, recognize their own direction in the long journey of life, and not change their itinerary because of the wind and rain, abandoning the distant places they want to reach.

It is appropriate to keep a certain distance from the world and to be moderately wary. At the same time, when we get along with people, we must maintain a relaxed and peaceful attitude, and more understanding and trust.
