Carrie Preston, the "red-haired lawyer" from "The Proud Wife," confirmed that she will star in ABC's brand new miniseries "When We Rise." This 8-episode miniseries focuses primarily on LGBT rights and tells about the gay movement. Renowned gay activist, director and producer Dustin Lance Black (who is also the fiancé of British diving prince Daly, who has worked as producer and screenwriter for the film Milkm) will serve as the show's producer. "Milk" director Gus van Sant will be responsible for directing the first episode.
Carrie Preston, who will play the role of Sally Gearheart in the play, is a dignified, intelligent radical with long experience in gay rights activities.
Incidentally, it's worth mentioning that Carrie Preston's new NBC comedy "The Whole Family Squeezes Together" will also air this Sunday.
