In 2009, Jiang Zhujun was elected as one of the "100 Heroic And Exemplary Figures Who Made Outstanding Contributions to the Founding of New China".

In Jiangjie Village, Da'an District, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, a unique southern Sichuan residential house is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and cadres and masses from all over the world have come to mourn and remember, which is the former residence of Jiang Jie.

Jiang Zhujun, the character archetype of Jiang Jie in the novel "Red Rock", is an indomitable hero who was tortured in Zha di Dong Prison, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, and a famous revolutionary female martyr.

On August 20, 1920, Jiang Zhujun was born in Jiangjiawan, Dashanpu Town, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, to a peasant family. In 1939, Jiang Zhujun joined the Communist Party of China. In the autumn of 1940, she entered the Zhonghua Vocational School and served as the head of the school's underground party organization, working as a young student.

In 1943, the party organization arranged for her to be an assistant to Peng Yongwu, one of the leaders of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China at that time, to do correspondence work. At the same time, they disguised themselves as husband and wife and formed a "family" as a secret organ of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and a guidance center for the rectification study of underground party organizations.

According to the instructions of the party, in 1944, Jiang Zhujun was admitted to Sichuan University and did party work as an ordinary student. In 1945, Jiang Zhujun married Peng Yongwu and stayed in Chongqing to assist Peng Yongwu in her work, responsible for handling party affairs and internal and external liaison work, and comrades affectionately called her Sister Jiang.

In 1947, Jiang Zhujun was appointed by the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China to organize students from colleges and middle schools to wage a heroic struggle against the Kuomintang reactionaries.

In 1948, Peng Yongwu was tragically killed while organizing an armed uprising. Jiang Zhujun endured the grief and resolutely took over her husband's work.

On June 14 of the same year, due to the betrayal of traitors, Jiang Zhujun was unfortunately arrested and imprisoned in Chongqing Zhadidong Prison. The Kuomintang military command agents used all kinds of torture in a vain attempt to open a gap in this young female Communist Party member and break the underground party organization. In the face of the enemy's severe torture, Jiang Zhujun remained unyielding, "You can break my hand and kill my head. "Torture, that's too small a test. Bamboo sticks are made of bamboo, and the will of communists is steel! ”

On November 14, 1949, on the eve of the liberation of Chongqing, Jiang Zhujun was killed by Kuomintang military command agents in Zhazhidong Prison, sacrificing his life for the communist ideal at the age of 29.
