In the recently concluded third round of the South Asian Football Championship, India's veteran Cetri scored to equal Pele's national team goals.
India drew with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the previous two rounds of the South Asian Championships, with Chetri scoring the only goal of the game in this round to help India beat Nepal 1-0.
Statistics show that this is also his 77th national team goal, thus catching pele and tied for 8th place in history.
