In June 2014, the Grand Canal of China was inscribed on the World Heritage List, marking the official status of the Grand Canal of China as a World Heritage Site. This is not only a recognition of the great creation and wisdom of the Chinese people, but also enriches the treasure house of the world's cultural heritage.

Performed by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Opera House and Beijing Music Association Choir, the Buick Master Series "Beijing Grand Canal" boldly explores the art form, using the stage form of symphony and Peking Opera art to display the historical relics and humanistic features of the Beijing section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in three dimensions, and excavate and promote its era value.

"Beijing Grand Canal" is composed by Yang Nailin, Weng Sizai and Li Dongcai as lyricists, and Kong Jie as stage director. Yang Nailin said that the preparation of "Beijing Grand Canal" has been nearly two years now, starting at the end of 2019, did not want to encounter the epidemic, everyone can only wear masks, relying on collective strength to create this work, because it has a certain degree of difficulty.

Beijingers have a saying, "Our Beijing City is a floating Beijing City", which has a lot to do with the Grand Canal. Culturally speaking, many important national cultural heritage sites in China were transported through the Grand Canal. How did "Dream of the Red Chamber" come about? "Cao Xueqin is written through the two sides of the Grand Canal, on the outskirts of Beijing on the grand canal. In Zhangjiawan, the northern end of the Grand Canal, the tomb of Cao Xueqin was unearthed, so the Grand Canal can be said to have played a great role in the creation of "Dream of the Red Chamber". ”

The whole performance is divided into five parts: the overture, the first movement "A Tower Shadow Sees Tongzhou", the second movement "Stars in the Sky Guo Shoujing", the third movement "Drifting Beijing City", and the fourth movement "Tribute to the Grand Canal", through the combination of the typical vocal cavities and symphonies of different genres of Peking Opera, the theme connotation of each part is expressed in the form of a suite. In each chapter, the content, artistic conception and meaning expressed by each track are progressive and interlocked, converging into a powerful artistic appeal, impact and shock.
Under the baton of conductor Li Biao, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the Beijing Opera House and the Beijing Music Association Choir jointly took the stage to interpret the grandeur of the Millennium Grand Canal with a huge scale of nearly 200 people. More than a dozen national first-class Peking Opera performance artists all appeared on the stage, singing the beautiful prospects of the Chinese Dream and the Millennium City with the charm of the national essence.
