In the long history of China's 5,000 years, in the literary world with brilliant stars and excellent works, there have been a large number of sincere and tear-inducing love poems or love letters, among which the seven-character love letter written by King Qian of Wuyue to his beloved wife Wu Shi can be called a classic in the classics. So, what kind of love letter is this simple in content, but can reflect the sincerity of feelings?
Born in the late Tang Dynasty, Qian Wei was a native of Lin'an, Hangzhou, who in his early years made a living by selling smuggled salt, and during the period when he curbed Wang Ying's rebellion in Zhejiang West Town, he followed The Town of Shijingdu to quell the rebellion of Dong Chang, thus entering the military circles. In the following decades, Qian Wei, due to his merits in resisting the Huangchao rebels and quelling the rebellion of Dong Chang, gradually occupied the two Zhejiang and 13 prefectures centered on Hangzhou, and was made the King of Wu and the envoy of Zhenhai Zhendong by the Tang Dynasty, becoming a very influential feudal commander in Jiangnan.

Qian Wei was the founding monarch of the Wuyue State
After the fall of the Tang Dynasty, Qian Was crowned King of Wuyue by Later Liang Taizu Zhu Wen and established a semi-independent regime. However, Qian Wei was a very wise monarch, considering that Wu Yue was small and widowed, surrounded by strong enemies, so he never refused to be called emperor, but accepted the canonization of the Central Plains Dynasty, in order to obtain assistance from the other side and maintain an independent position. In the third year of the Later Tang Dynasty (932), Qian died in Hangzhou at the age of 81, with the nickname Wusu.
Qian Wei had a large number of wives and concubines in his lifetime, and the most favored of him was his wife Wu Shi. Lady Wu was a native of Anguo County (Lin'an) in Hangzhou, born in a family of eunuchs, and her father, Wu Zhongxin, went to western Zhejiang to observe judges. Because she was born into a famous family, coupled with her beautiful appearance and knowledgeable etiquette, Wu Shi became the object of competition among the children of the high door very early, but the object of her eventual marriage was the smuggler Qian Wei.
When Qian Wei was lowly, he married Wu Shi as his wife
Speaking of the combination of the two, there is also an interesting story here. When Qian Wei first proposed to the Wu family, Wu Zhongxin and his wife felt that although he had an open-minded personality, he was engaged in a dangerous job that was easy to lose his head, so they were ready to reject him. At this moment, Wu Zhongxin's eldest brother helped Qian Wei to say good things, saying that he looked extraordinary and would become a great instrument in the future. Wu Zhongxin could not help his brother, and finally agreed to this family affair.
Mrs. Zhuang Mu wu, also from Anguo County. Father Zhongxin, Zhejiang West Observation Judge, and lily gave the official Shangshu. In the beginning, king Wusu was unconscious, and Zhongxin Jiaxian thought that the king was open-minded and generous, and he would not be allowed to do anything about the industry. And Mrs. Shi's father is a lesson in the knowledge of others, and it is inherently interesting. See Spring and Autumn of the Ten Kingdoms, Vol. 83.
After Wu passed the door, he was unusually affectionate with her husband, and gave birth to 13 sons after marriage, which can really be described as super "prolific". Not only that, Wu's filial piety to his in-laws and godsons are generous, and he is a well-known wife and mother. Qian Hao was harsh by nature, and he often made a big fuss about some small things, and whenever this time, Wu Would gently exhort him, thus making Qian Wei both love and respect.
After Wu entered the Qian family, he was very virtuous
After Qian Wei's hair, he successively married many concubines, invisibly forming emotional damage to Lady Wu. But for Qian's concubines, Wu regards them as sisters, and for non-biological children, she also regards them as her own, reflecting a rare high wind and bright festival. Although Qian Wei had a large number of wives and concubines, his favorite was still his wife Wu Shi, which can be seen in a small matter.
Because Mrs. Wu's family is in Lin'an, she will inevitably return home for a few days during the cold food festival every year, and then return to Hangzhou. However, one year, After Madame Wu returned home, she was delayed in returning, which made Qian Wei miss it very much. After many days of suffering, the illiterate king Qian Wei, with the help of his staff ("Qian Wusu Wangmu Unknown Book" in "Xiangzu Notes, Volume II"), wrote a letter to his wife and sent someone to Lin'an with a hurry.
The seven-word love letter is sincere and tear-jerking, which is really amazing
It is said to be a letter, but in fact it is a love poem, the content is only seven words: "Strange flowers bloom, can be slowly returned." "It means that the flowers on the field have bloomed, and the lady can slowly return?" After Madame Wu saw the letter, her heart was both touched and sweet, so she immediately packed up and returned to Hangzhou. Soon, this poem began to circulate in the outside world, and people at the same time admired and moved, they made it into a song and sang it, and it was still circulating until the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty.
Madame will return every spring, and Yi Jinjun thinks that it is constant. King Wusu said, "Strange flowers bloom, but they can slowly return." "People used its language as a song, and it has been passed down to this day. Ibid. (Note: Wu Renchen, author of the Spring and Autumn of the Ten Kingdoms, lived in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties).
During the Northern Song Dynasty, when the great scholar Su Shi was doing the history of thorns in Hangzhou, he was greatly touched after hearing this song, so he improvised three seven-sentence poems called "Strange Flowers". This group of poems is poignant and deeply charming, and the third of them is the most wonderful and can also touch people's hearts the most ("Before the birth of the rich grass dew, behind the wind and strange flowers." Having delayed the king's departure to Lu, judas slowly returned the concubines to their families. ”)
Wu's nickname was "Zhuang Mu", so later generations called her "Lady Zhuang Mu"
Wu was crowned Lady of Yan and Jin by the Central Plains Dynasty, and was known as Lady Zhengde in Wu Yue, and after several decades of staying with her husband, she finally died in November of the fifth year of Later Liang Zhenming (919) at the age of 62. Because her nickname after her death was "Zhuang Mu", the world called her "Lady Zhuang Mu". Thirteen years later, Qian Also died, and before his death, he ordered a joint burial with Lady Wu.
