The Song Dynasty was a dynasty that emphasized literature over military force, and produced many famous civilian officials, but the Song Dynasty did not lack military officers, just a few. However, in the Song Dynasty, there was an official, who first wrote and then used martial arts, and later trained a generation of anti-Jin generals. This person is the famous Northern Song Dynasty general Zong Ze.

Zong Ze came from a small family of intellectuals, and his ancestors had a tradition of cultivating and reading heirlooms. Zong Ze was a jinshi in the sixth year of the Yuan Dynasty. Before becoming a jinshi, he had more than 10 years of study tour experience, witnessed the national crisis, and liaoxia was deeply worried about the song dynasty. It was this kind of sense of distress that had been there since he was young, and Zong Ze later studied military books and martial arts. Therefore, although he was a jinshi of the Song Dynasty, he was a military general in his bones.
Zong Ze's time from Shi was the last year of the Song Dynasty, and it was also the period when the Song Dynasty was in decline. At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, Song Ze was not reused for a long time. In 1119, when Zong Ze was sixty years old, he requested to return to his hometown, but was soon falsely accused that Zong Ze despised Taoism, so he was sent to Zhenjiang as an editor.
In 1122, during the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song, a general amnesty was granted, and Zong Ze re-established peace. At this time, Liao Jinxia was rising, making Zong Ze aware of the danger of the country. However, the Song Dynasty arranged for a minor official to be a judge in Bazhou. Zong Ze was bent on going to the front line to kill the enemy and make meritorious contributions, but he could not achieve it, and he was always worried.
In 1127, on the recommendation of the imperial master Chen Guoting, Zong Ze, in the capacity of Zong Zheng Shaoqing, served as a peace envoy to Jin and prepared to go to jin dynasty. Zong Ze often told people that when he went to the Jin Dynasty, he did not intend to come back, and he would never bow to the Jin people. Song Qinzong knew that Zong Ze was a very loyal person. Therefore, Ren Zongze became the prefect of Cizhou. At this time, there were very few people in some northern cities in the Northern Song Dynasty, and when Zong Ze went, he only took a few old, weak, sick and disabled followers.
Everyone knows that Zong Ze actually went to be "cannon fodder" when he went. As a messenger, if you are not careful, you will die there. However, after Zong Ze left, the Song Dynasty actively prepared for war, repaired the city, recruited troops, and prepared to fight with Jin.
Later, Zhao Zhuo was ordered to send an envoy to the Jin Dynasty, and when passing through Cizhou, Zong Ze advised Zhao Shuo: "King Su has never returned, and now the enemy has tricked the king to summon the king, hoping not to go." Zhao Song listened to Zong Ze's words and did not send another envoy to the Jin Dynasty.
At that time, Zhao Zhuo had his own Grand Marshal's Mansion, and he saw Zong Ze coming, and when Zong Ze saw Zhao Zhao, he thought that the capital was under siege and that the capital should be rescued. At this time, someone came with the secret edict of Song Qinzong, thinking that it was possible to negotiate peace with the Jin people. However, Zong Ze believed that the Jin people were cunning and could not negotiate peace, and should send troops to take the city of Yuanyuan, and then camp in Anzhai, and the siege of the capital was lifted. If the enemy had other strategies, the Song army would have left the city. Later, Zong Ce was useless and could not participate in the deliberations of the Marshal's Office.
Poor loyal generals, they can't make it out.
So what is the intersection between Zong Ze and Yue Fei?
The relationship between Zong Ze and Yue Fei was deep, mainly due to Zong Ze's appointment as the governor of Kaifeng. This appointment was mainly due to the long-term vacancy of the kaifeng governor, and Li Gang suggested to Zhao That only Zong Ze be able to do this position. Therefore, Zong Ze went to Kaifeng Province to take up a post.
Zong Ze's mission to Kaifeng was great, because Kaifeng Province, as the old capital, was already on the front line. This place not only faces the Golden People, but also has many thieves, and the people are not at peace. After Zong Ze took office, the first thing to severely punish was the thieves.
In the process of Zong Ze's administration of Kaifeng Province, he strongly advocated that Zhao Zhuo move back to the old capital to stabilize the north. If Zhao Zhuo moved to Kaifeng again, perhaps the history of the Song Dynasty would be rewritten, but Zhao Zhuo was not such a person.
When Zong Ze was in charge of Kaifeng Province, Yue Fei, who was then Bingyilang, broke the law and was executed. After Zong Ze saw Yue Fei at this time, he said in surprise, "This is a general. So he let Yue Fei go.
At the same time that the Jin soldiers attacked Shuishui, Zong Ze, in order to further cultivate Yue Fei, gave him five hundred cavalry and made Yue Fei make meritorious atonement. After Yue Fei defeated the Jin people, Zong Ze recommended to the imperial court that Yue Fei be promoted to the commander, so Yue Fei became a famous anti-Jin general in the Southern Song Dynasty.
Zong Ze and Yue Fei are both superiors and subordinates, and Zong Ze is also Yue Fei's Bole.
On July 29, 1128, Zong Ze, who wanted to revive the Great Song Dynasty, died of illness. His sons Zong Ying and Yue Fei fuling to Zhenjiang to be buried with their wives. Zongze's descendants are spread all over the country. It is mainly distributed in Heze and Jining, Shandong, and there are also descendants of Zong in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui in the south, while there are also descendants of Zongze in Min County, Gansu Province, in the northwest. In Zhenjiang, where Zongze's cemetery is located, people worship him every year. It is said that Zongze also has an identity as the "ancestor of ham", according to legend, Zongze often led soldiers to fight, because the food is not good, he let people marinate pork for preservation, and later this way became the main food on the front line, and this pickled ham also spread. In ancient Zhejiang, Yiwu, Dongyang and other places belonged to the old Jinhua Province, so it had the name of "Jinhua Ham".
Among Zong Ze's many descendants, there is one person who is very famous, this person is Zong Qinghou, the richest man in China and the chairman of the Wahaha Group. He has called himself a descendant of Zongze on various occasions. It is said that the tenth ancestor of Zongqing, Ruizhi, moved to Hangzhou and formed the Qiantang Zong clan. Great-grandfather Zong Chenglie, a native of Qiantang, Zhejiang, served as an official in Hubei and Sichuan, and later became the commander of the infantry of the Zhengerpin Governor's Palace, and died in Sichuan and was buried in Qiantang County. His grandfather, Zong Jixian, served as an official in Wuhan and Guangxi. It is said that Zong Qinghou rarely mentioned his private affairs, but he often mentioned it to his ancestor Zong Ze. Zong Ze's tomb fell into disrepair, and he also asked his brother to explore it.
In 2016, the Hurun Rich List was released, and Zong Qinghou ranked fifth with a wealth of 112 billion yuan.
