However, the good times did not last long, and in 1598, Taikaku Toyotomi Hideyoshi died in Fushimi Castle in Kyoto, and the contradictions between the "civilian faction" led by Ishida Sansei and the "arbitrary faction" led by Masanori Fukushima were further made public. In 1600, When Japan was once again in turmoil, Ishida Mitsunari and Tokugawa Ieyasu rose up again for the position of lord of the world, and the battlefield was in Mino Sekigahara, not far from the Sanada family's domain. In this battle of life and death, all the daimyo of Japan are faced with a choice, and the Sanada family is no exception. In order to save the Sanada family, Sanada Masayuki and Sanada Yukimura joined the Western Army and the eldest son Nobuyuki joined the Eastern Army, a move that showed Sanada Masayuki's political skills to the fullest, so that either side could survive if it won the Sanada family.
After the Battle of Sekigahara, the defeated Sanada Masayuki and Nobuharu had to accept the punishment of the Tokugawa family, and the family was assigned to Mount Jiudu, and Sanada Masayuki was also depressed, but Sanada Yukimura lurked in secret and looked forward to another comeback. Sure enough, soon after, the Toyotomi family gathered Sanada Yukimura again and asked him to go out of the mountain to Osaka Castle to resist Tokugawa Ieyasu's attack.
Yukimura was appointed military commander after being popular in Osaka, during which time Yukimura repeatedly expressed his strategy and views at high-level military meetings, and even led the construction of a castle named "Sanada Maru" in the south of Osaka Castle. Throughout the Osaka Campaign, Sanada Yukimura repeatedly thwarted the Tokugawa army's attacks with the help of Sanada Maru, forcing its strategy to shift from siege to siege tactics, and finally signed a temporary contract a month after the confrontation between the two sides, and Sanada Yukimura also shocked the whole of Japan with his strategy of enticing the enemy.
The peace treaty was temporary, as Sanada Yukimura had expected, to be nothing more than a blind eye of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and in 1615 the Tokugawa and Toyotomi armies, one south and one north, were rounded up in the area of Okamaguchi, tennoji Temple, south of Osaka Castle, and the final armageddon of the Japanese Sengoku period was about to break out. Maori Katsunaga, who was also a Toyotomi army with Sanada Yukimura, highlighted the Ieyasu Honjin, repeatedly attacking the enemy positions several times his own, killing seven in and seven out. However, due to Ieyasu's order to put down the flag when he fled, the Toyotomi army was unable to find his position. As time went on, the casualties of the Sanada army became larger and larger, and Yukimura was seriously wounded and eventually beheaded by the enemy generals, so Sanada Yukimura became the last tragic hero of the Sengoku while achieving his "first soldier of Japan".
