In August 1943, the great traitor Wang Jingwei had a recurrence of a gunshot wound in the spine, and Japanese doctors diagnosed it as "multiple bone marrow swelling", leaving a bullet in his body that could not be removed when he was assassinated in 1935. The medical level of Japanese hospitals in Nanjing was limited, and Japanese doctors suggested that Wang Jingwei go to Japan for surgical treatment, and Wang Jingwei agreed.

In March 1944, Wang Jingwei was secretly sent to the Faculty of Medicine affiliated with Nagoya Imperial University in Japan for treatment. The operation was successful, and Wang Jingwei entered the convalescent stage, not expecting his condition to deteriorate on November 10. Due to the frenzied bombing of Nagoya by the US military, Japanese doctors could only transfer Wang Jingwei from the fourth floor ward of the hospital to the basement air raid shelter.

The next day, Wang Jingwei had a fever of 40 degrees, breathing difficulties, and died in the afternoon when rescue was ineffective. Wang Jingwei's last words before his death were, "I want to go back to China...", at the age of 61. Wang Jing had a last word before the health, and he would return to Nanjing for burial and be buried near the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. Wang Jingwei's wife followed her husband's last words and chose his cemetery on the Meihua Mountain of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.

Chen Bijun knew very well that her husband had offended too many people before he died, and countless people gritted their teeth in hatred, and they would definitely frustrate him to ashes. So Chen Bijun repaired the Wang Jingwei cemetery incomparably strong, and in addition to wrapping the grave with concrete, he also put a large number of broken steel blocks inside. No matter how strong the cemetery was, it could not withstand the bombardment of explosives, and the Wang Jingwei cemetery was eventually destroyed.

On January 15, 1946, Qiu Weida, deputy commander of the Seventy-fourth Army, received a call from Xiao Yisu, chief of staff of the Army Headquarters, saying that He Yingqin had asked him to attend the meeting. When Qiu Weida arrived at the venue, he found that Ma Chaojun, mayor of Nanjing, Ma Chongliu, commander of the Army Headquarters Engineers, Zhang Zhen, commander of the Nanjing Gendarmerie, and Xiao Yisu, chief of staff of the Army Headquarters, were already there.

He Yingqin said in his speech: "You have come to discuss a matter, hoping to keep it absolutely confidential and not to leak it to any party. The chairman of the CPPCC National Committee will soon return the capital, and the grave of Wang Jingwei, a traitor, is actually buried in Meihua Mountain, alongside Premier Sun's mausoleum, which is too unusual. If you don't remove it, the commission will see it and be angry. At the same time, it also hinders all aspects of audio-visual. If you study it in detail, how to change the law must be handled with due care. ”

Under the instructions of He Yingqin, on the evening of January 21, Qiu Weida led the engineer battalion of the 51st Division of the 74th Army to blow up the Wang Jingwei cemetery with 150 kilograms of tnt explosives. After Wang Jingwei's coffin was opened, the body was not decomposed after embalming, and was cremated, and the ashes were discarded at will. After the Wang Jingwei cemetery was bulldozed, people built a small pavilion on the original site, which is now Guan Mei Xuan.

Wang Jingwei has five children who have grown up to adulthood, none of whom live on the mainland. In the 1990s, Wang Jingwei's youngest son, Wang Wenti, finally returned to visit his father's grave. At that time, only a little concrete residue could be seen in the Wang Jingwei cemetery, but the next scene may be a lifetime for Wang Wenti. Wang Wenti saw a kneeling statue of his father with his hands tied behind his back, and it was facing the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.

Obviously, Wang Jingwei's kneeling portrait has the intention of apologizing. Wang Wenti only bowed to the kneeling statue three times, leaving behind the eight words "If you do something wrong, you should be punished", then turned his head and left. It is worth mentioning that this kneeling statue of Wang Jingwei has long been demolished and is currently kept in the landscape of the Management Bureau.
