vertebrate. Solid color mountain wren warbler prinia inornata

Vertebrates, ornithischia, passeriformes, fantail warblers. The solid color mountain wren warbler is also called the brown-headed wren warbler and the pure color wren warbler. It is a slightly larger (15 cm) and longer tail of the solid-colored mountain warbler , whose tail length can account for more than half of the length of the whole body. It has a pronounced over-eye brow stripe, which is off-white and becomes slightly blurred behind the eyes. The crown , upper body and tail feathers are brown , the underparts are off-white , and the thorax , flanks , and undertail coverts are yellow. The feathers are reddish brown , the tail is long and convex , and it is often erect , and it is interesting to note that their tails are longer in winter than in summer. The iris is light brown with a nearly black beak and pink feet.

The solid-colored mountain warbler is widely distributed and is a common resident bird of endemicity. It is usually found in agricultural lands and open grasslands in plains, hills and river valleys at low and middle altitudes, and is commonly found in grasses, reeds, swamps, corn fields and rice paddies, and can also adapt to a variety of habitats such as cities. During the breeding period, they often move alone or in pairs, and during the non-breeding period, they often move in small groups, bold, lively and noisy, and are not very afraid of people. Flying with a long tail, it appears top-heavy, slow and clumsy, usually flying a short distance to hide in the bushes. Usually foraging near the ground, the food is mainly insects, and sometimes weed seeds are also eaten.

The solid-colored mountain warbler is a natural master builder and enters the breeding season (May-July), where the paired male and female nest together. They spare no effort in construction every day, taking materials, drawing, drilling, weaving, etc., every step is meticulous. Their nests are mostly cystic and cup-shaped, somewhat like the pitchers of Nepenthes, very delicate.

So how does the solid-colored mountain wren warbler, known as a master builder, build its nest and choose its nesting material? Let's take a look at the research results of bird experts: the nest material of the solid color mountain wren warbler generally selects live bark leaves or lush thatched leaves, first cuts the leaves from the leaf base, and then tears them into strips that are 3-4 mm wide and about 20-30 cm long, brought back to the nest and placed aside, and the hanging nest plant leaves are drilled into horizontal rectangular holes with their beaks, usually about 5-10. Or first perforation and then look for suitable nesting materials or one drilling thread to find another nesting material. First form a bracket, and then begin to weave the bottom of the nest, and gradually weave into a large and small bag-shaped nest, which is quite beautiful and exquisite. When weaving to the mouth of the nest, the weaving is suspended, and the work of laying the inner mat is changed to about one day. The inner cushion material is mostly the thin roots of the dried grasses, about 1 cm thick. After the inner pads are laid, continue to weave the upper part of the nest. Except for the bitter thorn, artemisia annua, and fern leaves, which are not perforated on the leaves, the rest are perforated, but most of them are no longer perforated when weaving the nest, but are wrapped around the petioles and small branches. The material of individual nests is mixed with rice whiskers, grass roots and corn leaves, but the content is very small, and the nest stents do not use these materials." At present, the temperature is gradually rising, and the pure-colored mountain wren warbler living in the wetland and surrounding areas is becoming busier and busier, and the song is more cheerful. Strolling along the shores of the lake, you can see them everywhere courting, chasing noises, nesting in grass... What a busy sight!
