After not closing his eyes overnight, he successfully predicted 2 geological disasters, avoided 26 casualties, and avoided direct economic losses of 1.28 million yuan.

In March 2018, he was transferred to the deputy station manager of the Guilin branch. Two months after taking over as station manager, that is, in the early morning of June 9, 2019, heavy rain fell in Jeonju County, Guilin City, Liu Zhenyu issued early warning information in a timely manner according to the rain situation, and successfully predicted the mudslide of the quanjia village committee in Longshui Town, avoiding 250 casualties and avoiding direct economic losses of 5.5 million yuan.

Liu Zhenyu led his colleagues to work in the field for 15 days, walking more than ten kilometers a day to check for secondary disasters, providing an important technical basis for the local government's emergency response and post-disaster reconstruction decisions.
"If it weren't for Liu Station Commander and experts persuading me to evacuate, I would have died a long time ago!"
