In just a dozen words, the fearless image of General Peng Dehuai on the battlefield is revealed. With his outstanding merits, Mr. Peng has written a glorious stroke in China's modern history, which is admired by all generations.
Mr. Peng has no children in his life, and he regards the children of his brothers as his own children, especially peng Meikui, the daughter of the second brother Peng Jinhua, who is regarded as his own daughter by Mr. Peng. Mr. Peng even gave his very valuable manuscript to Peng Meikui for preservation. Peng Meikui also did not live up to the instructions of Mr. Peng, and this manuscript was carefully preserved for 17 years.
Peng Dehuai has two younger brothers, one named Peng Jinhua and the other named Peng Ronghua. Peng Dehuai was born in 1898, because his family was so poor that he often led his two younger brothers out to beg. Later, in order to support his family, Peng Dehuai went to work in the coal mine, who knew that when he met the coal mine owner who ran away, Mr. Peng began to firm up his revolutionary cause by chance.
At this time when Japan invaded China in an all-round way in 1937, Peng Dehuai already had a place in the army. Peng Jinhua ran from Hunan to Yan'an to find his brother who planned to join the revolution, and under Peng Dehuai's arrangement, Peng Jinhua graduated from the Military and Political University with excellent results. If he stayed in Yan'an and continued to carry out the revolution, he could also create a career, but Peng Dehuai let his brother return to his hometown to mobilize the masses.
Peng Jinhua followed his brother's advice and returned to his hometown in Xiangtan to mobilize more people. Peng Jinhua's wife, brother Peng Ronghua, and younger siblings all became party members. The family was united, the revolutionary work was in full swing, and who knew that Peng Ronghua would soon be killed by the reactionaries.
At this time, the situation became more and more serious, and Peng Jinhua decided to burn secret documents and important materials in order to protect them. It was precisely because of this move that he delayed his escape and was eventually captured by the reactionaries. Peng Jinhua was tortured in prison but did not betray the organization, and the angry enemy killed Peng Jinhua.
At the time of Peng Jinhua's death, Peng Dehuai was commanding the Hundred Regiments War, and the reasons for the war at that time led to underdeveloped communications, and it was not until two years later that Peng Dehuai's nephew Peng Qichao learned of the death of his two younger brothers.
Peng Qichao was also a brave teenager when he was ten years old. After experiencing the murder of his father and uncle, he decided to go to the eldest uncle Peng Dehuai, who was young and incapable of working, and begged all the way from Xiangtan to Yan'an.
Peng Jinhua left behind a daughter, Peng Meikui. Both younger brothers died for the revolution, and Peng Dehuai took good care of his niece and nephew. In 1949, Peng Dehuai became a founding general. The next year, the situation stabilized, and Peng Meikui was brought to Beijing with the children left behind by several other younger brothers.
Born in 1929, Peng Meikui was also a staunch revolutionary influenced by her family atmosphere. After her father was killed, her mother had problems with her spirits because she couldn't stand the stimulation. On the one hand, Peng Meikui took care of his mother, on the other hand, he threw himself into the revolution and actively joined the party.
In 1950, Peng Meikui met his long-admired uncle in Beijing. Mr. Peng has no children in his life to treat these children as his own children, and he left a deep impression on Peng Meikui during the first meeting. Peng Meikui said that she felt the long-lost father's love.
The time came to 1959, and this year Mr. Peng experienced a turning point in his fate. Fall from the position of founding marshal. What Mr. Peng did not expect was that his wife Pu Anxiu filed for divorce at this time. The colleagues and comrades-in-arms around them saw that the problem was getting more and more serious, and began to alienate Mr. Peng for fear that he would be implicated.
Peng Meikui insisted on visiting his uncle. When his uncle was in the lowest mood, Peng Meikui often went to accompany Mr. Peng to relieve his boredom, and Mr. Peng's clothes were often washed, dried, and put away by Peng Meikui. Treating her father like a filial daughter also made Mr. Peng feel the joy of heaven at the low point of his life. Peng Meikui, who has feelings and righteousness, has brought warmth to Mr. Peng.
In 1962, Peng Meikui went to visit his uncle. Since mr. Peng was criticized, he has become more and more trusting of Peng Meikui. Treating her truly as her own daughter, this time Mr. Peng had very important documents to hand over to Peng Meikui. He repeatedly told Peng Meikui that he must keep these materials well. In particular, it cannot fall into the hands of foreigners.
Peng Meikui rarely saw his uncle, so serious in front of himself, knew that this material was very important. Peng Meikui took home the information that his uncle had given him, and without even her husband telling her, she wrapped the information layer by layer and hid it in the cabinet. To make sure she was foolproof, she also pressed her clothes on top as a disguise.
In 1964, Peng Meikui and Mr. Peng discussed taking these materials back to their hometown to bury them, and Mr. Peng thought about it and agreed. The materials were kept in a porcelain jar. Later, this information was transferred by Peng Meikui many times.
Until 1969, this information was transferred back to Peng Meikui's hands. In 1974, in the bloody battlefield, General Peng Da, who was on the verge of a knife, died of illness. Peng Meikui endured grief and took care of his uncle's affairs.
In 1978, Peng Meikui saw a news in the newspaper that Huang Kecheng, a comrade-in-arms of the great uncle, had returned as an adviser to the Central Military Commission. Thinking of his uncle's evaluation of Huang Kecheng before, Peng Meikui wanted to see his uncle's former comrades-in-arms and forward the manuscript left by his uncle to Huang Kecheng.
Huang Kecheng was in a high position at the time, and Peng Meikui inquired about the last entrustment to find a relationship and told Huang Kecheng that he was Peng Dehuai's niece. After Huang Kecheng learned of this news, he immediately arranged to meet with Peng Meikui. In this meeting, Peng Meikui told Huang Kecheng what his uncle had left for him.
Huang Kecheng and Peng Meikui discussed handing over this precious manuscript to the Party Central Committee. But the time was not yet ripe, Huang Kecheng asked Peng Meikui to wait a while longer, and in January 1979, Huang Kecheng told Peng Meikui to hurry up and hand in the manuscript. Peng Meikui wrote a letter explaining the ins and outs of the manuscript, and together with the manuscript, handed it to Huang Kecheng, asking Uncle Huang to help him transfer the manuscript to the Party Central Committee.
Finally, this manuscript, which had been in the folk for 17 years, was handed over to the Party Central Committee. Hu Bangyao, who was responsible for receiving the information, also specially wrote a receipt. Peng Meikui finally lived up to expectations and brought these manuscripts back to light. These manuscripts were collated and compiled into a book for distribution.
Peng Meikui took meticulous care of his uncle when he was in distress, and the two people were as close as father and daughter. Even though he was in the jianghu, Mr. Peng was still worried about the temple, leaving a precious manuscript to give to his niece. It is in this way that the historical materials have been preserved, so that generations of Chinese understand those difficult years.
To Peng Meikui's great satisfaction, his uncle was also rehabilitated. Before Mr. Peng died, he told Peng Meikui that the party would not always treat him like this. At the last moment of his life, Mr. Peng still believed in the party and the country. He devoted his whole life to the party and the people, and the people will never forget Peng Dehuai.
