Louis Beltran
Considered by many to have been dusted by Spanish design, José Manuel Ferrero, founder of Estudi Black Sands, has always acknowledged his admiration for the tailor shops of the famous London streets of Savile Street. So your home is also like a tailor-made suit that suits the owner, family and lifestyle like gloves. These spaces showcase the designer's personality, his passion for detail and his attention to shape, material and texture.
Approximately 120 square meters of apartment, well-proportioned, bright and comfortable. 50% is used in public areas and the other half is used in private areas. Upon arrival, the entrance hall is already a declaration of intent, covered in warm and elegant walnut, with cabinets specially designed for storage. As a contrast, the living room also tries to create texture on the walls, but the white contrasts with the darkness of the wood: one of the walls of the common space shared by the living room, the dining room and the open kitchen is covered with wood. The white lacquered finish has a 3D effect reminiscent of a spool tower.
This type of detail appears in all environments, with the quality of the material as the basis of the project, customized solutions and personal winks, such as furniture prototypes and objects designed by José Manuel Ferrero, models, sketches, drawings of his children, Up 50 armchair - accompany all your movements - ... Multiple experiences make up a designer's special world for you to rest and enjoy with your family and friends.
Backstage, in the lobby, a prototype of an Arrel coat rack, the first work of Ferrero's career.
A work area with Desalto shelves, the foreground is a Up 50 armchair designed by Gaetano Pesce for B & B.
On the walls hang works designed for Sancal in the motif of the Magnum armchair.
The dining table is made of stone and designed by L, Antic Colonial of the Porcelanosa Group.
The kitchen combines natural wood with pearl quartzite countertops from Levantina.
On the wall of the corridor, some of Jean Michelle Basquiat's illustrations turned into skateboards.
On the table was a Snoopy lamp, of Flos's, and on the wall was a painting of Oscar Busquets, of Gaulino chair of Lady Modilian.
The walls of the bathroom are covered with indigo marble from Levantina, cut into adult glyphs.
