Ceramic tile size regularity
Size is an important use of ceramic tiles, the size of the regularity does not meet the requirements, will directly affect the product paving effect and product dosage, the most likely to lead to consumer complaints.
There will be differences in the way ceramic tiles are laid in different countries. For example, EU countries are mainly based on wide seam paving, and the connection seam between brick and brick is between 2 mm and 5 mm when paving, while China's paving method is tight seam or even seamless paving, and the construction requires the connection seam to be as small as possible. Therefore, Chinese companies attach great importance to the regularity of products, while European companies pay less attention to the size deviation of products. At the same time, if the product size deviation is negative, it may lead to an increase in the actual amount of some products in the construction process, thereby increasing the cost of decoration.

Water absorption
The water absorption rate reflects the size of the internal porosity of ceramic tiles, which is the basis for the classification of ceramic tiles and the formulation of technical requirements, so the level of water absorption directly affects the physical properties and price of the product. Ceramic tiles with low water absorption are prone to large watermark marks when used, which affects the appearance and is easy to drum after moisture.
In recent years, with the rapid development of the ceramic tile industry in some emerging countries, the low-end market has been squeezed at a low price in the international market. Behind the low-price competition, there is an extreme control of costs, which can easily lead to unqualified product quality. According to customs testing, the declared value of the water absorption rate of ceramic tile products produced in many emerging countries is far lower than the measured value.

There is no CCC certification mark
According to Article 2 of the current "Provisions on the Administration of Compulsory Product Certification", in order to protect national security, prevent fraud, protect human health or safety, protect animal and plant life or health, and protect the environment, the relevant products stipulated by the state must undergo compulsory product certification (CCC certification) and mark the certification mark before they can be shipped, sold, imported or used in other business activities.
On April 21, 2020, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the Announcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation on Optimizing the Mandatory Product Certification Catalogue (No. 18 [2020]), and the State Administration for Market Regulation (CNCA) revised the Description and Definition Table of the Compulsory Product Certification Catalogue to continue to implement mandatory CCC certification for dry pressed ceramic tiles and porcelain tile products with a water absorption rate (E) of no more than 0.5% for building decoration.
Customs alerts
When consumers choose to buy imported ceramic tiles, they need to pay attention to check whether the product packaging or product is affixed with the CCC certification mark, whether it shows the implementation of China's relevant national standards, and if necessary, they should obtain a test report issued by a third-party testing agency from the merchant to check whether the water absorption test value is consistent with the declared value.
