Beijing News (reporter Liu Zhen) on October 1 and 2, the Beijing Culture and Art Fund 2020 annual funding project - Beijing Peking Opera House new modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao" as the ninth China Peking Opera Arts Festival participating works, performed at the Beijing Poly Theater. Ma Wen, second-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Zhang Peng, director of the Art Department, Yang Hongyi, secretary of the party committee of the Beijing Opera House, Liu Tong, president of the Beijing Opera House, Wang Guisheng, deputy secretary of the party committee, and Zhu Jia, vice president of the Beijing Opera House, attended the performance. The newly compiled modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao" is also another outstanding play participated in by the Beijing Opera House after the large-scale Peking Opera Symphony Suite "Beijing Grand Canal" and the modern Peking Opera "Xu Yunfeng" at the opening of the China Peking Opera Festival. These three plays also serve as representatives of the excellent works of "Big Drama to See Beijing", showing the enduring charm of Peking Opera art and the vigorous vitality of innovative development to the national audience.
It is understood that the newly compiled modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao" has lasted for two years since its inception in early 2020, the whole drama has been processed and improved 5 times, the details have been polished countless times, the performances have been performed in a total of 16 performances, and the first peking opera newly created repertoire "online and offline double premiere" model has been opened, boosting the Peking Opera art into the "double-line era", so that the Peking Opera art can play a greater social benefit in contemporary times. Among them, the report performance at the Central Party School on April 12, 2021, the participation in the "Outstanding Stage Art Exhibition celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" at the National Centre for the Performing Arts on July 7 and 8, and the participation in the 9th China Peking Opera Arts Festival have also become especially important key nodes in the creation and performance of the new modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao", marking that the play is on the road to creating a "three essences" repertoire, and adding high-quality masterpieces to the Art of Peking Opera in the new era.
Since its premiere, the newly compiled modern Peking opera "Li Dazhao" has undergone several times of processing and improvement, and has been added and deleted several times. In July 2021, after the special exhibition and performance of the play to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Party at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, all the crew members carefully studied and understood the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech "July 1st", and under the guidance of the expert leaders who observed the performance, added Mr. Li Dazhao's deeds of spreading Marxism in the Red Chamber of Peking University, forgetting selfishness for the cause of the revolution, bravely shouldering heavy responsibilities to build the party in the torrent of the times, and enlightening the people's wisdom to advocate the people's revolution, further condensing and sublimating the glorious image of Mr. Li Dazhao in the play.
On July 22, 2021, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China issued the "Announcement on the List of Works Participating in the Ninth China Peking Opera Arts Festival", and the newly compiled modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao" of the Beijing Opera House was selected. Previously, the newly compiled modern Peking opera "Li Dazhao" has been honorably selected into the list of key supported works of the General Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the "Stage Art Creation Project Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", the annual funding project of the Beijing Culture and Art Fund (2020) and the "Excellent Stage Art Works Exhibition and Performance for Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Federation of Chinese Literary and Art Circles, becoming one of the 50 works exhibited in Beijing.
