Former World Chess Queen Xu Yuhua was elected to the FIDE Women's Committee

On the 2nd, the FIDE announced the personnel changes of the FIDE Women's Committee, and Xu Yuhua, vice chairman of the Chinese Chess Association and former women's world champion, became a new member of the committee.

In this personnel adjustment, the former secretary of the committee, Azerbaijani women's grandmaster Ilaha Hadimova, was transferred to the tournament committee, and Chris Taylor Hafstad from the United Kingdom became the new secretary. According to reports, the latter has rich experience in the cultivation of corporate, financial and youth chess talents, and will focus on promoting and developing projects and activities that can promote women's participation in chess.

Xu Yuhua became a new member of the committee in this personnel adjustment, in the chess player career, Xu Yuhua has a brilliant record, combining the three championships of the Olympic Games, the World Cup and the World Championships, in the 2006 Women's World Chess Championships, Xu Yuhua won the championship with a total score of 2.5:0.5 in advance while pregnant, becoming another world chess queen in China.

According to reports, fideual women's committees have been set up to increase women's interest in chess, promote gender equality, and improve women's rights and interests. The goals of the Women's Committee are to promote women's chess in all FIDE member countries and regions, to support the development of talented young female chess players, to increase the number of certified female organizers, referees and coaches, and to increase the number of female lecturers.

In addition, the FIDE Council has designated 2022 as the "Year of Women's Chess". FIDE is determined to further enhance the development of women's chess and promote women's participation in all areas of chess.
