Maling River Canyon, a crack in time

The world is big and there is a lot of beauty. For example, the Maling River Gorge.
Maling River Gorge is located in the northeast of Xingyi City, 5 kilometers away from the city. It is known as "the gap between the gutter and the ground".
Maling River originates from Baiguoling in Wumeng Mountains, the upper reaches are called Qingshui River, and the middle reaches are called Maling River because there are Mabei Dazhai and Maling Village on both banks. The valley of the Maling River Gorge is 74.8 kilometers long, the valley width is 50-150 meters, the valley depth is 120-280 meters, and the valley floor is 200 meters below the ground.

As one of the main geological relics of Xingyi Global Geopark, Maling River Canyon is a large rift valley cut by an orogenic movement, which integrates majestic, strange, dangerous and beautiful, with canyons, waterfalls and karst caves as the main landscapes. In the deep valley, there are 56 large and small waterfalls, more than 100 water curtain caves and more than 120 famous springs. The waterfalls in the valley are flying, the green bamboos are upside down, the karst caves are connected, the ancient trees and famous trees on both sides are dotted in the meantime, and there are thousands of postures. It is known as "the most spectacular and beautiful city in the world", the Grand Canyon.
On the morning of April 11, we set off from Xingyi city and drove for more than 10 minutes to Maling River Gorge.
The bottom of the valley is the best place to enjoy the "gutter and ground cracks".

Standing at the bottom of the valley, the cliffs facing each other squeezed the sky to the point of only a line wide. Where the cliffs meet the white clouds, dozens of waterfalls roar and fall, merging into a turbulent stream and hurrying away. The splashing mist fills the valley and spreads among the verdant greenery, which is breathtaking.
It's a crack in time. Hanging on the cliffs, the "rock shale wall hanging" (also known as the canopy) stretching for several miles is the scenery carved by hundreds of millions of years.
Geologists explained that because the waterfall at the top of the cliff is rich in calcium carbonate, calcium carbonate is attached to the cliff wall during the fall. Little by little, day by day, the accumulation, invisible to the naked eye, finally took shape on the cliff. Among them, the young rock shale wall hanging, is ochre-red, and the showy surface layer grows with thin bryophytes. After more than 10,000 years, the ochre turned dark brown, and then in 10,000 years, the dark brown faded to light gray.

During the Qing Xianfeng period, Xingyi Zhixian Guanbao also saw the scenery of this canyon, and his fellow villagers, Zhu Fengjia, who participated in the compilation and revision of the "Xingyi Mansion Chronicles", traveled in the Maling River Canyon, and the poetry was great, and the sentences were linked to each other, and they praised: "...... Yunqi stone is more strange, strange painting is difficult to compare, write strange only poetry, poetry in the cloud mountain. ”
Zhu Fengjia couplet: "The poem is ethereal and beautiful, and there is flowing water in the mountains." There are two mountains in one stream, and the two mountains are facing each other. ……”
In the canyon, the plank road opened up with the situation of the mountain is like a brocade floating on the mountainside from a distance. Walking along the plank road, one by one the karst caves are connected, the structure is ingenious, and there are holes in the holes.
The double rainbow bridge waterfall is a scene of its own. On the footbridge, every step is terrifying, and next to it is a waterfall flying down. Shuanghongqiao, worthy of its name, can see the water mist splashed by the waterfall on the bridge, which is refracted into two rainbows by the sun, colorful and beautiful.
