Drama Single World: Qiu Shengrong's "Lin Zexu"

This is the play list of Qiu Shengrong's performance of "Lin Zexu" at the Guanghe Theater on October 1, 1958. After the script of "Lin Zexu" was written, Qiu Shengrong asked to rehearse the play, and in September of that year, Qiu Shengrong led the Western Performance Troupe of the Beijing Peking Opera Troupe to Baotou and Hohhot to tour, accompanied by Li Duokui, Ma Fulu, Chen Shaolin, Li Shiji, Zhou Hetong, Ma Shenglong, min Zhaohua and so on. During the tour, it was performed at night, and "Lin Zexu" was rehearsed during the day. After returning to Beijing, the play has been arranged. Officially performed at the Guanghe Theatre on October 1, the role arrangement is: Qiu Shengrong as Lin Zexu, Chen Shaolin as Guan Tianpei, Ma Fulu as Wu Shaorong, Zhou Hetong as Qishan, He Shengqing as Mu Zhang'a, Li Shiji as Huang Fengying, Zhang Hongxiang as Yilu, etc. The performance was welcomed by the audience, and the professionals also affirmed that Qiu Shengrong, as a copper hammer flower face, could play a Qing Dynasty figure, and the singing voice, recitation, and performance were very natural and smooth, which was a successful experiment. The foreigners who appear in the play can also sing Peking Opera, which also arouses great interest from the audience. However, "Lin Zexu" did not perform a few times (some say that only this one was performed) and then hung up, and Qiu Shengrong gave up this play. He said that acting in this play always felt awkward, his short stature and emaciated face, unlike Lin Zexu, who smoked smoking, but like a smoker.
