Many people know that Edison was the king of invention, but many people don't know that he founded many companies.
Edison (1847–1931) was an American physicist, inventor, and entrepreneur. Known as the "World King of Invention", it has more than 2,000 invention patents.
When he was a student, Edison behaved differently, always liked to ask questions, and the teacher could not answer the questions, and kicked him out of the school. His mother, Nancy, taught Edison herself, developing his habit of doing experiments with his own hands. As a teenager, Edison developed a keen interest in chemistry, earning money from selling newspapers and fruits to buy experimental instruments, conduct experiments, and cause several explosions.
In 1861, at the age of 14, Edison bought an old printing press with the money he earned from selling newspapers and began publishing the weekly magazine He edited, The Herald.
In 1868, at the age of 21, Edison was granted the first invention patent, the "Voting Counter".
In 1870, at the age of 23, Edison sold his patent for a general printing press and built a factory for the production of electrical machinery.
In 1873, Edison studied the synchronous transmitter.
In 1877, Edison improved the telephone set invented by Bell and put it into practical application, founding a telephone company. In the same year, the first phonograph was invented.
In 1878, Edison began to study electric lights. On the basis of the invention of predecessors, through the test of more than 1600 kinds of materials, finally developed a practical value of electric lamps. At that time, the filament was made of carbonized cotton filament, which was later improved into "tungsten filament lamp".
In 1881, a power generation device was exhibited at the Paris World Exposition.
In 1884, Tesla, another inventive genius, came to Edison's company and proposed an AC power generation system, but it was incompatible with Edison's concept of DC power generation system and was not valued.
In 1885, Tesla improved the DC generator, but Edison reneged on the $50,000 bonus previously promised, and due to the intensification of the contradiction, Tesla left Edison's company in 1886 to create the "Tesla Electric and Electric Company", which was later called Edison's biggest competitor. Tesla's departure also became the biggest failure of Edison's life.
In 1887, Edison founded the "Edison Phonograph Company".
In 1891, Edison exhibited film projector technology in a laboratory.
In 1892, because alternating current had a greater advantage over direct current, the operating conditions of the Edison Electric Company deteriorated, and it had to merge with another company to form the "General Electric Company", and Edison withdrew from management.
In 1898, Edison's investment in iron ore failed and he was heavily indebted. After that, Edison's investment in cement plants was successful and became one of the top five cement plants in the United States.
In 1902, Edison invented the "nickel-iron alkaline battery".
In 1903, Edison's company produced its first film, Train Robbery.
In 1909, a battery with better performance was developed.
In 1915, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics and Chemistry.
Edison died in 1931 at the age of 84.

Edison's most controversial thing is that in the current dispute, in order to suppress Tesla's alternating current, the death row inmate was electrocuted, and people were electrocuted to kittens and puppies to make people think that alternating current was dangerous, but in the end the current dispute was still lost.
