This strong and legendary woman has made countless contributions to our country, and she has achieved many achievements and honors that are beyond the reach. But there are some sadness behind the legend that may never be able to be calmed down, and we can never empathize with it.

Because of the nature of her work, she often has contact with some leading comrades. That time, Wang Guangmei and her colleagues visited Kang Keqing, who suggested that they go to see Liu Shaoqi together.
Wang Guangmei and her colleagues met Liu Shaoqi again, Liu Shaoqi said some encouraging words to them, and shook hands with them one by one, Wang Guangmei was the last to shake hands with Liu Shaoqi, at that time she was the youngest, and her position was the lowest.

At that time, Wang Guangmei, a college student with progressive thoughts, got a copy of "On the Cultivation of the Communist Party" from an underground party member, and she read the pamphlet many times and felt that it was really difficult to be a communist, and she had high respect for the author Liu Shaoqi.
What Wang Guangmei did not expect was that he met this author in Yan'an, and he would be closely associated with this author for the rest of his life.

Liu Shaoqi visited Wang Guangmei's unit twice, and the second time he also visited Wang Guangmei's residence in passing. At that time, Wang Guangmei and another female colleague lived in a small room, and there were photos hanging on the walls as decorations.
Later, Wang Guangmei worked in the foreign affairs group of the Central Military Commission, and suddenly one day, she received a notice saying that Comrade Liu Shaoqi had something to discuss with her. It turned out that she had mentioned it to Liu Shaoqi when she first met him, hoping that the central leading comrades could give some help to these young people, but he did not expect him to remember this matter.
Arriving at the jujube garden, Wang Guangmei came to Liu Shaoqi's cave and took a look! The furnishings in the cave are very simple, and the conversation is still the topic of the last time he joined the party, and Liu Shaoqi told her a lot of knowledge about the revolution.
Unconsciously, the two talked about noon, and it was time for lunch. And because it happens to be Sunday. Wang Guangmei came after lunch, and the second meal was not eaten until the afternoon. But the central leading comrades in the jujube garden did not have a Sunday, or they had three meals a day.

The pear looked ugly, black, and it had been away for a while, and this incident left a particularly deep impression on Wang Guangmei. At that time, she felt very uncomfortable in her heart, a little moved, and thought to herself, how can the central leaders eat such a pear?
Perhaps, it is because the backgrounds and aspects of the two people are very different that they will produce a strong attraction. In the eyes of Wang Guangmei at that time, Liu Shaoqi's way of expressing love was particularly "strange".
At the beginning, he "confessed" that he was older, that he had five children in the family, how old these children were, that he had stomach problems, and that some other diseases were not too good, and that he was still busy at work and had no free time.
But Wang Guangmei felt that although the person in front of her was not romantic, he was indeed a very real person. The common revolutionary ideal and the pursuit of a better life in the future eventually brought the two together.
On August 21, 1948, Wang Guangmei and Liu Shaoqi married as lifelong partners in Xibaipo. There was neither a grand wedding nor a wedding feast on the wedding day.

Because of this, in Zhongnanhai, Liu Shaoqi's family has become a well-known happy family, and Liu Shaoqi also cares for Wang Guangmei, and the two people love each other very much.
In March 1949, Liu Shaoqi arrived in Xiangshan with other central leaders. One day, Liu Shaoqi said to Wang Guangmei with great concern: "You may have been away from Beiping for many years, go home and have a look, I will accompany you to visit Mr. Wang and the old lady." ”
Hearing this, Wang Guangmei's heart was moved, although he knew that there was a telephone at home, but in order to abide by discipline, he had not called once. A few days later, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Mao Zedong decided to let Liu Shaoqi go to Tianjin as soon as possible to help solve some problems of urbanization and the resumption of production.
In early April, Liu Shaoqi and Wang Guangmei drove from Xiangshan to Beiping City to learn about the situation in Tianjin at the Bei bureau of the Houyuan Temple in northern China, and then Liu Shaoqi asked the driver to take them to Wang Guangmei's home to visit Wang Guangmei's parents, Wang Zhichang and Dong Jieru.
Wang Zhichang had already received a call from Ye Jianying. Wang Zhichang happily told Dong Jieru the good news. At that time, he did not know who Liu Shaoqi was. He hurried to the Xidan shopping mall to find a pamphlet about the Chinese Communist Party, and it was said that Liu Shaoqi was from Hunan and nicknamed "Little Zhuge Ge", which was Wang Zhichang's first understanding of his son-in-law.
Then, Wang Zhichang told Wang Guangying the news that Wang Guangmei was coming back. Wang Guangying opened a chemical factory in Tianjin and worked in Tianjin for a long time, but his home is still in Beiping.

In 1988, the 90th anniversary of Liu Shaoqi's birth, the completion of the bronze statue of Liu Shaoqi, the opening of the Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall, Wang Guangmei took the children back to Ningxiang again, saw Liu Shaoqi's tall bronze statue, Wang Guangmei's eyes were moist, and seeing this familiar face in his lover's hometown made Wang Guangmei feel uneasy.
