Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching, Chapter 16: To the Void Pole; All things work together, and I look at it. Husbands and wives, each returned to its roots. In the final analysis, it is quiet, and it is quiet and restored. Resurrection is often known, and knowledge is often known.

Only when a person makes the emptiness of the soul reach the extreme, and the inner peace is not mixed, can he truly live in the present, can he approach the dao in the emptiness, and understand the dao.

In my opinion, the biggest difference between Taoist thought and Confucianism is that Taoist thought tells people to live in the present, do more subtraction from life, see simplicity, be less selfish, never learn worry-free, let everything go with nature, and strive to achieve the realm of life in which The Tao is natural and heaven and man are one.

Confucianism, on the other hand, always talks about ideals, dreams, and the future, so that people can look forward to everything, and regard today's efforts and sufferings as stepping stones to tomorrow's success.

It is mencius who said: Therefore the heavens will send down a great task to man, and he will first suffer his heart, strain his bones, starve his body, empty his body, and mess up his deeds, so he will be moved to endure and benefit what he cannot do.

However, tomorrow after tomorrow, tomorrow is so much, there is more chicken blood, we will also feel exhausted.

Moreover, people's goals and desires are unlimited, and one goal is achieved, and the next goal is achieved.

As a result, we are often satisfied and at the same time feel lost.

It is the philosopher Schopenhauer who said: Life is a mass of desires, and if desires cannot be satisfied, they are painful, and when they are satisfied, they are bored, and life oscillates between pain and boredom.

It can be said that most people's lives are like this, step by step becoming slaves to desire, and feeling pain and helplessness.

Therefore, we will find that even if the material life in modern society is getting better and better, there are more and more people suffering from depression and more and more people with mental internal friction.

The Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: Those who have attained enlightenment live in the present moment

As everyone knows, thinking harms people more than wine.

If a person is overthinking, thinking about it all day, thinking too much and worrying, in fact, the harm is far greater than the harm of wine to the human body.

Therefore, the ancients warned us: If the birth year is less than a hundred, why should we always worry about a thousand years?

Truly intelligent people should learn more Taoist thought, treat themselves well, cherish life, stop losses in time, stay away from mental internal friction, let themselves be less anxious, and strive to live in the present, rather than living for the past and the future.

As Zeng Guofan famously said in his diary: Things come to conform, the future is not welcomed, the matter is not complicated, and the past is not in love.

As modern people have summed up: not confused in the heart, not trapped in love, not afraid of the future, not thinking about the past, so, be well.

The Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: Those who have attained enlightenment live in the present moment

A person always feels remorse and bitterness, then he is living for the past;

A person always feels anxious and afraid, then he is living for the future;

A person, only calm and calm, enjoy the present time, then he is living for the present.

Taoist thought is to free everyone from anxiety and mental intriguation, live more in the present moment, and enjoy the present.

We can understand what "living in the moment" is from the following short stories:

The disciple asked the master, "Master, what were you like before you attained enlightenment?"

Master said: Cook, chop wood.

The disciple asked, "What about after attaining enlightenment?"

Master said: Cooking is cooking, chopping wood is chopping wood.

There are several levels of meaning here:

1. Before attaining enlightenment, Master had to chop wood and cook for his livelihood. After attaining enlightenment, habits become natural, you should cook and cook, you should chop wood and chop wood.

2. Before attaining enlightenment, Master should think about chopping wood when cooking, and he should think about cooking when chopping wood. After attaining enlightenment, he lived in the present moment.

3. Before attaining enlightenment, it was Master who was cooking and chopping firewood. After attaining enlightenment, cooking is cooking, and chopping wood is chopping wood. Without the Master as the subject, everything happens naturally.

The Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: Those who have attained enlightenment live in the present moment

If a person does not have the Tao, his heart is often impetuous, thinking about chopping wood when cooking, thinking about cooking when chopping wood, always mentally exhausted, self-confused, so he is tired in life, and things are not done efficiently and unfocused.

However, when a person has attained the "Tao", he can unite his body and mind, the unity of knowledge and action, and even the unity of heaven and man, focus on the present moment, enjoy every minute and every second, listen to heaven and earth, let go, the heavens and the earth are born with me, and all things are one with me.

People, it is time to rest when you should rest, work when you should work, and only when you are a person can you focus on being efficient and efficient, and you can have no disadvantages.

As written in Zhuangzi, the Health Lord: Cu Ding slaughtered cattle to King Hui of Liang, where his hands touched, where his shoulders leaned, where his feet stepped on, where his knees went, the flesh and bones of the skin and flesh made a clicking sound. None of the clicking sounds of the knife did not conform to the rhythm, which was in line with both the dance of "Sanglin" and the rhythm of "Sutra".

Liang Huiwang said, "Haha! All right! Why is your skill at this level? ”

Ku Ding put down the butcher knife and replied, "What I love is tao, which is far beyond the scope of technology." ”

Cu Ding is able to focus on what is in front of him and focus his time and energy on the present moment, because he can be at ease and at ease.

In a sense, Cu Ding is also a person who has attained enlightenment, which is called: all walks of life are in the doorway.

The Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: Those who have attained enlightenment live in the present moment

If we want to understand the Dao, the more we live, the more transparent we are, we also need to reduce our desires and anxieties and focus on the people and things in the moment.

As Lao Tzu said: For the Tao to lose day by day, loss and loss, so that there is no action, no action and no action.

I like a fable by Zhuangzi, and I hope that everyone can be a person who relaxes physically and mentally and lives in the present:

Zhuangzi was fishing on the edge of the Pu River, and the King of Chu sent two ministers to invite Zhuangzi and said, "The King of Chu has promised you a high-ranking official, Houlu, that he hopes to trouble you with the affairs of the Chu State." ”

Zhuangzi held a fishing rod in his hand and said without turning his head back: "I heard that there was a divine turtle in the Chu Kingdom, which was three thousand years old when it died, and the King of Chu wrapped it in a silk scarf, put it in a bamboo box, and treasured it on the temple." Would this divine turtle prefer to die in order to leave the bones behind to obtain a noble status? Or would you rather crawl around alive in the mud with your tail in the mud? ”

Both ministers said, "I'd rather crawl around alive in the mud with my tail in the mud." ”

Zhuangzi said, "You two please go to the toilet." I will also crawl around with my tail dragged in the mud. ”

Yes, many people are blinded by desire, confused by the promises of others, always living in the future and dreams, so it is unwise to ignore the leisure and happiness of the present!

The Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: Those who have attained enlightenment live in the present moment

Once upon a time, such as dying yesterday;

From the latter, such as today's birth.

A person who begins to learn to focus on the present moment, enjoy the present moment, and listen more to the voice of the heart and nature can slowly understand the Dao, approach the Dao, and finally enlighten the wisdom and truly attain the Tao.

Therefore, those who have attained enlightenment are living in the present moment!
