During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Dezhong began to participate in the revolution, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was appointed as the political commissar of the Central Guard Regiment, which is what we commonly call the "Political Commissar of Unit 8341". It is worth mentioning that Yang Dezhong was also the first political commissar of this unit, and since then he has been conscientious and conscientious and has done a good job in protecting the leaders.
In 1965, Yang Dezhong was appointed deputy director of the Security Bureau of the General Office, and it was also during this term that he experienced the September 13 Incident. When the 913 incident occurred, Pan Jingyin, the captain of special plane No. 256, lost contact with the ground, the ground did not understand the real-time situation of the aircraft, and the plane crashed in Mongolia, which was inconvenient for on-site investigation, so how this Trident aircraft crashed is a question worthy of in-depth investigation.
In order to dispel people's doubts, Premier Zhou specially instructed the establishment of an investigation team to investigate the cause of the plane crash, and Yang Dezhong was the head of the investigation team. Unable to go to the scene, Mr. Yang could only find evidence from the photos they brought back, and coincidentally, one photo showed a hole in the wing. It is clear from the photograph that the hole exploded on one side and the aluminum spines were turned outward.

During Yang Dezhong's trip to Shaanxi, Wang Dongxing was the director of the Central Guard Bureau, and in December 1978, Yang Dezhong was transferred back to Beijing, where he succeeded Wang Dongxing as director of the Central Guard Bureau. Two years later, while taking into account the work of the Guard Bureau, the organization gave Yang Dezhong a more important task, making him deputy director of the General Office, and Yang Dezhong was also well qualified for this work.
In 1988, when the People's Liberation Army resumed its ranks, Yang Dezhong was awarded the rank of lieutenant general.
