General Peng Bo is a cross-century old man who is admired by the world. Born in 1921, he served as the political commissar of the Jiangsu Provincial Military Region, and at the age of 17 he joined the army to resist Japan, experienced hundreds of battles, from soldiers to generals, from the smoke of gunfire, baptized in the fires of war, fought on horseback, was bold and loyal, and made indelible contributions to the establishment of new China and socialist construction.
General Peng was a famous general calligrapher, and Chairman Mao once praised him, Shu Tong, and Wu Zhongqi as "three pens in the army.", and he was the former political commissar of the Jiangsu Provincial Military Region and an honorary director of the Jiangsu Provincial Calligraphers Association. He has loved calligraphy all his life, from Yan Ti, Wei Bei, Lishu to Seal Book, even in the years of guns and bullets, he has never given up his love of calligraphy. He said: "Culture is the foundation of calligraphy, calligraphy is the spirit of Chinese national culture, to integrate feelings into the pen, emotion is the soul of calligraphy art, and this spirit is also a kind of feeling for the people and society." General Peng, who loves literature and art, also served as the director of the Revolutionary Committee and the secretary of the party group of the Bayi Film Studio, and in 1973, he served as the political commissar of the Bayi Film Studio. During his tenure, he organized the filming of excellent films such as the Peking Opera art film "Red Lantern", "Red Detachment of Women", "Plains Combat" and the children's red film "Shining Red Star".
