Unlike Tokyo Love Story (1991 edition) starring Nanami Suzuki and Yuji Oda, the drama will be set in a modern stage reiwa version set in 2020, with Kentaro Ito as Kentaro Nagao, Shizukawa Ishibashi as Reika Akamei, Sho Kiyohara as Kenichi Mikami, and Asuna Ishii as Rimi Sekiguchi.
