The 2021 China Jinan Wu Tianming Youth Film Summit will be held in Jinan from November 11 to November 15. The main activities of this summit are composed of Sunac, theme forums, theme lectures and theme screenings.
At this year's theme screening, we continue the original intention of "Tribute to Realist Films" in 2019, and invited Li Yang, deputy dean and doctoral supervisor of the School of Arts of Peking University, initiator of the "Lost Shadow Spirit Award", and editor-in-chief of the "New Fan Film Series", as the curator, with the theme of "Love", selected seven domestic realist-style films for screening, and the film's main creators will also participate in the post-screening exchange. The seven films are "Hot Love", "Toast to the Past", "Very Love", "Have Something to Say", "Blue Train", "Under the Sun", and "Lausanne's Family Affair". These films span thirty years, and we hope to make a "new voice" for love through classic love movies and "new generation" love movies.

Aphrodite, a symbol of love, comes from the day Venus is closest to the sun, which is called the beginning of spring. Love, therefore, is destined to be the one closest to the sun of all human emotions. Love is a force that overcomes resistance, brings people closer to each other, and keeps each other.
The call for love is an instinct of human beings. However, the Chinese nation is implicit and reserved, and it naturally enters the expression of love and the expression of film. We have never opened the romance of big and closed, the sadness of big ups and downs, and the love in Chinese movies is "abnormal": poetic, gently wrapped in the torrent of the times, from the beginning of the fourth generation of film prose writing, "love" is no longer "as usual". Love does not just belong to two people, but carries too much realistic care, from the mountain villages in the depths of the Qinling Mountains to the open special economic zones, from the sneering capital to the northeast towns full of coal and ice, bringing love stories belonging to each region.
Among them, we can never ignore the female aspect: from Lu Xiaoya, to "Cheers to the Past", to "Under the Sun" after the new millennium... They walk out of the screen, travel through the corridor of time, and tacitly give the film an emotional writing that feeds back the male perspective, which is also a reconstruction of the image of women in China's intimate relationships. The love story after the new millennium makes people feel a certain retro meaning of obsession - to be precise, it is a state rooted in the basic structure of the times, presented with a rather fluid texture, and the hidden love, silently hidden in a case, a melody, a track, seems to return to the fourth generation that holds the warm love story in the arms, the dark tide is turbulent, and the sadness is heavy.
Precisely so, these films mirror the relationship between serious issues and seemingly insignificant love, and the most authentic presentation of love makes the love story on the screen more related to the crowd.
The writing of love in movies often contains a kind of "extraordinary". This "extraordinary" is sometimes expressed in the kind of upsurge drama of Romeo and Juliet, and sometimes in the isolation and dislocation of time, space, and even gender. In the post-pandemic era, each of us seems to be experiencing a sense of "isolation" at various levels, from separation to distance, from being withdrawn from the rushing daily life. This also allows us to observe and examine the intimate relationships in which we live from an unusual perspective and posture. From the 1980s to the second decade of the new millennium, cinema as a kind of reflection of life, these films related to "very love", may in a sense become the empirical reference of our life in the present, or become a path to intervene in the emotional experience of life, a vehicle that brings us from the river of daily life into the vortex of "extraordinary" emotions.
