After Wei Qing's death, wei Qing's three sons, how princess Pingyang treated them

author:Zhang Shengquan's wonderful history

Wei Qing died in 106 BC. When Wei Qing died, he had three sons, Wei Ling, Wei BuXian and Wei Deng. These three sons were not the sons of Princess Wei Qing and Princess Pingyang. So, after Wei Qing's death, how did Princess Pingyang treat Wei Qing's three sons?

After Wei Qing's death, wei Qing's three sons, how princess Pingyang treated them

(Wei Qing stills)

To answer this question, we must first see how many years Princess Pingyang lived after Wei Qing's death.

In fact, this question is unanswerable. Because it is not recorded in history. Not only is there no record of how many years Princess Pingyang lived after Wei Qing's death, but also how old Wei Qing and Princess Pingyang were when they got married, there is no clear record.

However, we can analyze this problem.

Because when Princess Pingyang married Wei Qing, at least after 115 BC, because this year, her second husband died. Wei Qing thus became his third husband. How old was she at this time? Nor is there a historical record.

However, when Princess Pingyang married Wei Qing, Emperor Wu of Han was 40 years old, so Princess Pingyang, as an older sister, was at least over 40 years old.

After Princess Pingyang married Wei Qing in 115 BC, Wei Qing died in 106. When Wei Qing died, Princess Pingyang was in her 50s.

When Princess Pingyang was in her 50s, how old were Wei Qing's three sons, Wei Ling, Wei Bu and Wei Deng?

Even the ages of Wei Qing and Princess Pingyang are not recorded, and the ages of the three of them are not recorded in history. However, it is possible to roughly calculate their age from one thing.

In 124 BC, In the process of attacking the Xiongnu, Wei Qing won a great victory, capturing more than a dozen young princes of the Xiongnu Right Sage King, more than 15,000 Xiongnu men and women, and millions of livestock. When the news came, Emperor Wu of Han was overjoyed, and not only worshiped Wei Qing as a great general and increased his number of households by 6,000, but also immediately announced that Wei Qing's three sons, Wei Ling, Wei Bu, and Wei Deng, would all be crowned marquises. At that time, Wei Qing resigned: "Chen Qingzi is in his infancy... How dare the three of them be sealed! Here, the word "swaddling," generally interpreted as under one year of age. However, there is another explanation for being under the age of ten. Because when Emperor Han Zhao ascended the throne at the age of 8, Huo Guang also said that this was "entrusted by the swaddling". The latter explanation therefore seems more appropriate.

Since in 124 BC, several of Wei Qing's children were still "in their infancy", then, in 106 BC, when Wei Qing died, Wei Qing's children were also around 20 years old.

Since the children of Wei Ling, Wei Buxian and Wei Deng are already in their 20s, it means that they have reached adulthood. Adulthood, natural independence. Therefore, there is no question of whether the 50-year-old Princess Binh Duong is good for them or bad for them.

In fact, the later lives of Wei Qing's children were indeed not very related to Princess Pingyang.

In 124 BC, Wei Ling was made the Marquis of Yichun by Emperor Wu of Han, and by 116 BC, he was dismissed for sitting on the "correction without harm". The so-called "correction is harmless" means issuing or changing the emperor's order without authorization. "No harm" means that no harm has been done. At that time, who wei ling was implicated and dismissed from the marquis is not recorded in history. The following year, in 115 BC, Princess Pingyang died her second husband, and soon after, married Wei Qing.

(Princess Weiqing and Pingyang)

In 106 BC, after Wei Qing's death, Emperor Wu of Han had Wei Ling succeed to his father's title as marquis of Changping. It is difficult to say whether Wei Ling was able to inherit his father's title because Emperor Wu of Han looked at Wei Qing's face or at the face of Princess Pingyang. If it is to look at the face of princess Pingyang, then Wei Ling is obviously the beneficiary.

However, the title of Wei Ling was not preserved, and in 99 BC, Wei Ling lost his title again because he "entered the palace", that is, entered the palace without a rune (equivalent to entering the palace without authorization).

At this time, it was uncertain whether Princess Pingyang was still alive. The history books only record that princess Pingyang said that she would be buried with Wei Qing before she died, but did not say when she died.

However, it is very likely that she was no longer alive at that time. If she were in the world, she would definitely help Wei Ling to say good things.

Wei Ling eventually died in 91 BC because of his involvement in the "Scourge of the Witches".

Wei's two younger brothers, Wei Buxuan, Wei Deng, and Wei Ling, were both ennobled as marquises in 124 BC. Wei Bu was undoubtedly the Marquis of Yin'an, and Wei Deng was the Marquis of Fa Gan.

In 112 BC, Emperor Wu of Han seemed to regret that he had made so many marquises, so he took the marquises of Wei Bu and Wei Deng under the pretext of "the gold is not as good as the law". Since then, there has been no record of them in history.

In short, although Wei Qing left three sons when he died, because they were all basically adults, Princess Pingyang did not care whether they were good or not.
