This preconceived notion of disgust towards Wang Anshi was instilled in the three fathers and sons of the Su family.
After Su Xun came to Tokyo, he wrote an essay, "The Theory of Discernment", which was full of naked hostility to Wang Anshi.
In 1066, Su Xun fell ill and died in Jingshi. Wang Anshi refused to attend Su Xun's funeral, and even later satirized him when he wrote a biography for Su Xun.

Su Shi wrote the "Tribute to the School of Parliament" and was summoned by Emperor Shenzong. As a result, Su Shi was even more unable to hold back, and successively "The Book of emperor Shangshenzong" and "Book of the Emperor Again", and even launched personal attacks on Wang Anshi personally, calling him personally a problem with his character and morality, and even opposing it for the sake of opposition, avoiding the benefits of changing the law, as if it were an unreasonable attack purely for ideological differences.

Unexpected rescue
When Su Shi was 44 years old, he was in Charge of Huzhou Zhizhou, and because he was very happy in his tenure in Huzhou, he sent a letter of thanks to the emperor. However, it was this letter of thanks that brought unexpected disasters to Su Shi. The New Party impeached Su Shi for this letter with great disrespect and wanted to put him to death, so Su Shi was arrested and imprisoned, and even tortured.
"Entering the state hall, with boots and robes, Standing in the court, two pawns, white clothes and green scarves, Gu Pan is vicious, and people's hearts are fierce and unpredictable." If you are afraid and dare not come out, you have no intention of doing anything. ”
This is the "Wutai Poetry Case" that shocked the whole country. However, Su Shi was not alone, and many people came forward to rescue Su Shi, and one of them was unexpected, that is, Wang Anshi, who had been Su Shi's political enemy and had resigned to Jinling, actually tried his best to protect him, and wrote to Emperor Shenzong, saying: "Where is the reason for killing talented people in the world of Shengming?" ”。 As a result, Su Shi was spared the death penalty and ended the disaster by being demoted to Huangzhou.
Afterwards, Su Shi also reflected, and his thinking also changed, perhaps at this time there was also a sense of pity for each other.

After the death of Emperor Shenzong, the old party returned to the central government, and the new party was dismissed one after another.
In 1086, Wang Anshi died. Su Shi was responsible for drafting a posthumous edict for Wang Anshi, and at this time, as a member of the old party, he did not criticize and satirize Wang Anshi, but fairly evaluated Wang Anshi, and even admired Wang Anshi.
