According to legend, during the Ming Jiajing period, there was a returning yushi lord in Pucheng County, which borders jiangxi in the mountains of northern Fujian, who was tired of eating the taste of mountains and treasures, and the chef at home created a new dim sum, mixed the pork puree with some sweet potato flour, rolled it into pieces as thin as paper, cut it into three-inch square pieces, wrapped in meat filling, and cooked with broth.
Later, this craft gradually spread and flowed into Fuzhou, becoming a household name in Fuzhou as "Taiping Yan".
"Taiping Yan" is often matched with shelled duck eggs, because in the Fuzhou dialect, "egg" is "egg", "duck egg" is harmoniously pronounced as "pressure chaos", "meat swallow with duck egg" is to take "pressure chaos" to get peace, so the name "Taiping Yan".
