Du Jinfang, a deputy to the Third National People's Congress, a member of the Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project (Peking Opera), died in Beijing at the age of 89 at 22:26 on April 17, 2021 due to ineffective medical treatment.
Du Jinfang began to study drama in 1939, and in 1945, he was taught by the famous opera educator Wang Yaoqing, who was carefully taught and taught by words and deeds, and won the essence of Wang Pai's art. In 1949, Du Jinfang worshiped the Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang as a teacher, and was carefully guided and carefully passed on by Mei Lanfang, and his art became more and more mature.
In his artistic career of more than 80 years, Du Jinfang, with his superior innate endowment, tenacious diligence and hard work, and persistent artistic pursuit, created and performed dozens of newly compiled historical dramas such as "The Legend of the White Snake", "Xie Yaohuan", "Liu Yin", "Peach Blossom Fan", "Jade Hairpin", "Butterfly Cup", "She Saihua", "Wild Boar Forest", "White Haired Girl", "Red Lady Scout Army" and other dozens of newly compiled historical dramas and sorted out and adapted traditional plays and modern plays, creating a large number of vivid and vivid and touching stage art images, forming a unique classical beauty. In his later years, Du Jinfang focused on artistic inheritance and experience summary. Over the years, she has taught according to her aptitudes, and has worked hard to cultivate a group of outstanding actors and budding young talents; she has taught the classic fragments of "Red Detachment of Women", "Xie Yaohuan" and "The Legend of the White Snake" to the students of the "Peking Opera Professional Young and Middle-aged Teachers Advanced Training Class" for several consecutive years... She has always been full of expectations for young Peking opera people. In November 2019, du jinfang's oral record, which was specially funded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and with more than 300,000 words and more than 200 pictures, was published by the People's Publishing House.
During her serious illness, Du Jinfang struggled with the disease, raced against time, and still wanted to pass on the skills of Peking Opera in her hospital bed. During the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, she used telephone voice and video connections to talk to students. Du Jinfang once said with deep affection: "It was the party and the state that cultivated me, let me serve the people with literature and art, I changed from an artist of the old society to an artist of the people, this is an earth-shaking change, but unfortunately, I have done too little, it is not enough, but as long as I still have a breath, I will not give up the pursuit of Peking Opera, because I love my career too much!"
