Single World of Drama: Zhang Junqiu and Du Jinfang co-starred in "The Tale of the West Chamber" on the same stage

This is a list of the newly choreographed play "The Tale of the West Chamber" jointly performed by the China Peking Opera House and the Beijing Peking Opera Troupe in 1959. This year is the tenth anniversary of the National Day, the China Peking Opera House and the Beijing Peking Opera Troupe jointly created two large-scale tribute plays, one is "The Battle of Chibi" and the other is "The Tale of the West Chamber". "West Chamber" is not the same as the traditional Xunpai famous drama "Red Lady", the first protagonist in the new play is Cui Yingying, played by Zhang Junqiu, who created a whole set of singing voices for this role, which is unique and beautiful, and the character performance of Cui Yingying breaking through feudal etiquette and pursuing love and happiness is vividly expressed, which is deeply welcomed by the audience. This drama has become a famous drama of Zhang Pai and has been preserved to this day. Red Niang is a minor role in this play, but the weight is also very heavy, and it is played by Du Jinfang, the head of the Chinese Peking Opera Theatre, who seems to be a little aggrieved. But after all, this is a big cooperative performance of the National Day gift, which embodies the spirit of unity and cooperation, so Du Jinfang gladly accepted the task. Zhang Junqiu and Du Jinfang are both famous artists, and in the past, they have performed their own roles and have hardly cooperated. This time, the two co-performed a play on the same stage, which not only greatly improved the artistic quality of the play, but also feasted the audience's eyes. Another major attraction of this play is that the famous young artist Ye Shenglan plays Zhang Jue. This character is a schoolboy who is obsessed with beauty and timid and afraid of things in "Red Lady", while in "The Tale of the West Chamber" is a knowledgeable and responsible youth. Ye Shenglan created a new stage image. After liberation, Ye Shenglan and Zhang Junqiu had few opportunities to cooperate, and this great cooperation also provided a rare opportunity for the two of them to cooperate. The old lady Cui in this play is played by the famous Old Dan Li Jinquan, and the Huiming monk is played by Lou Zhenkui, the flower face of Jin Pai, which also adds a lot to this play. After the gift performance, Zhang Junqiu took the play back to the Beijing Peking Opera Troupe to perform alone, the red lady was played by Mei Pai Qingyi Li Yufang, Zhang Jue was played by Zhang Junqiu's old partner Liu Xuetao, Cui Old Lady Geng Shihua played, and Hui Ming was played by Zhang Hongxiang.
