When the newly revised Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests (effective January 1, 2023) was promulgated, two events reminded me of Zhang Jun and his mistresses, and how important it is to protect women's legitimate rights and how important it is to control criminal risks for women at senior levels of business.
First, I have served as a defense case that has lasted three years. Whenever I saw the picture of the company's male legal person and three female defendants side by side during the trial, especially the fact that the legal person used various means to enlist these women to "work for him", I always vaguely felt that the tactics of the bandit Zhang Jun reappeared, and even felt that his ghost was not dispersed. Although in the company, there is no need to use a knife and a gun, but its purpose is the same, so that these women are forced to be "bound" and "buried" helplessly and deadly.
Second, according to the media, Zhang Jun's wife Yang Moumou has been released from prison and lives a low-key life with the daughter born to Zhang Jun. This information immediately pulled my mind back 20 years.
Twenty years ago, Zhang Jun and his mistresses were detained in various detention centers in Chongqing. After May Day, carrying a letter of introduction signed and approved by the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, the author went to Chongqing with enthusiasm to explore the criminal motives of the bandit Zhang Jun and his mistresses.
Looking back on this incident, what impressed me the most was still Zhang Jun's planning and control of the female members of the hiding place, which deepened my worries about the fate of the female employees of the company.
Half a month later, May 20, was the day the bandit Zhang Jun paid his blood debt, and the day Zhang Jun and his mistresses were executed.
01.
Zhang Jun carefully calculated the prey he caught
In the mid-90s of last century, with the deepening of reform and opening up, the investigation of wandering crimes also encountered great challenges.
Zhang Jun always asked gang members to collect and study news reports on crime detection, so that gang members could effectively evade detection.
In view of the fact that hotels in various places are the key detective scope for wandering crimes, Zhang Jun carefully planned a plan to find women from the Liang family to fall in love and use their houses as his best hiding places.

(1) Beautiful women are more likely to be hunted for
Whether it is the leader of a criminal gang or the boss of the company involved, when he has various evil purposes, he often looks to beautiful women and looks for suitable prey.
Zhang Jun pretended to learn to drive close to the female taxi driver
On May 6, 2001, at the Chongqing Detention Center, the author talked to Quan Moumou, who had big bright eyes, fair skin color, and black hair.
The months of detention did not seem to have made her look emaciated, and when she appeared in red casual clothes, handcuffs and leg irons, it was difficult to associate her with the concept of a cold-blooded killer who killed without cause and a death row prisoner (awaiting review).
According to Director Liu of the Chongqing Municipal Detention Center: Quan Moumou not only knows how to drive a car (when he knows Zhang Jun is when he drives a taxi), can play the dulcimer, speaks Mandarin well, was still attending an accounting major at a self-study university before being arrested, and is also familiar with computers and English.
Although the marriage was unhappy, he still chose to pursue progress after the divorce. Unfortunately, she met Zhang Jun!
(ii) Evolving prey into a member of the crime who is faithful to himself
On the afternoon of 8 May, at the Chongqing Detention Center, four armed armed police soldiers stood guard at the door, and two public security officers stood guard on the left and right sides of Zhang Jun.
What impressed me was that Zhang Jun kept smiling almost all the time, even when talking about the topic of killing Yan, one of the female members, earlier, with a gentle smile.
The author is the only female policeman who has talked with Zhang Jun about the motive of crime and criminal psychology since he was arrested and detained, and Zhang Jun, who likes to express herself, not only talks eloquently but also slightly reveals a little excitement to have such an opportunity.
After targeting women who are in the period of emotional hesitation or emotional void (divorce, breaking up with lovers), the next step is that Zhang Jun is extremely sincere (purposeful and sincere) into the relationship, that is, for the specific object, Zhang Jun will try his best to do it, so that the other party is moved.
Even so that the other party felt that Zhang Jun, who was so generous to look good, treated him like this, and he had the idea that he must repay Zhang Jun and be worthy of Zhang Jun for life.
Nowadays, it is more recognized that in some deformed relationships, one party exercises mind control over the other (see related case reports).
According to the data, the so-called mind control, also known as mind control, is related to brainwashing. By dismantling the individual's perception of himself, the individual completely changes his or her perception of his own experience and personality, and instills new values and worldviews, so that the individual becomes dependent on the controller and becomes the instrument of the controller.
However, in the author's opinion, Zhang Jun's practice (means) does not seem to have risen to the stage (level) of mind control, and to some extent, it is more like natural care or courtesy.

Zhang Jun replied easily: "Innocent people can't talk about it, but the death penalty is a very serious blow to them or their families." ”
(3) Forcing lovers to get blood on their hands
In Zhang Jun's careful planning, it was not enough to move the mistresses or show their loyalty, they had to be stained with blood on their hands to make Zhang Jun feel at ease.
1. Force Quan so and so to kill innocents indiscriminately
Quan's attitude was slightly reluctant throughout the conversation. Only when she described her relationship with Zhang Jun to the author, the words she used and the psychedelic look in her eyes did not resemble the innocence and romance of her age.

She replied: "I was a little scared, but I trusted him because he never let me do anything bad... Later, he called a man away at the labor market, went to the mountain, forced the man to strip naked and kneel, then handed me a loaded gun and told me to aim at the man and shoot. When I said I was afraid to shoot, he yelled at me and pointed the gun at me. Then I closed my eyes and shot, but I didn't kill at the time. Later, Zhang Jun shot again, and the man died. ”
The author asked her again: "That person was innocently killed by you like this." How did you feel, and why didn't you resist at that time? ”
Quan defended: "Zhang Jun pointed a gun at me, and I couldn't do anything. ”
The author said: "Aren't you also holding a gun? Why didn't you point to Zhang Jun and tell him, you can't be unwilling to kill? Why not make an effort? Is Zhang Jun's verbal threats so effective? He didn't intimidate you to shoot you. ”
Quan lowered his eyes and remained silent.
The author then asked: "How did you live on the day you killed someone?" ”
She replied in an indifferent tone: "He left that day." I still felt scared in my heart, and I felt that he was too cruel. Later, I went crazy all night alone. ”
The author has been watching this woman who can "play crazy all night" for a long time after the first killing, but it is difficult to accurately grasp her true inner world.
2. Forcing Qin to participate in armed robbery
On May 7, the author and Deputy Captain Jiang Yang had a conversation with Qin Moumou, who was wearing handcuffs and leg irons and had a stiff facial expression.
She wore an old white blouse, and her short hair, which did not fit her face, made her look dull.
Qin Moumou, who is not outstanding in appearance, was over 40 years old when he met Zhang Jun, and he had two children in a divorce, 14 years older than Zhang Jun. Usually a divorced woman of this age, no matter what level of cultural accomplishment, life has taught her how to identify the opposite sex.
Qin told the author: "Zhang Jun treated me very well, often took me to the movies, danced, and ate, and said to me, 'A woman is old, it is not easy to be outside, and she will treat me well for the rest of her life.'" ’”。 Obviously, these words moved her very much.
In the end, what completely subdued Qin Moumou was that when she was sick and bedridden, Zhang Jun had been carefully cared for by the bedside for several days.
Between the conversation between the author and Qin Moumou, she often showed a tired expression and sighed heavily, as if every answer to a question would consume a lot of her energy.
She said: "The day before I went to rob, Zhang Jun just said that he had a business to discuss at 6 p.m. tomorrow, and asked me to wait for him at the designated place." The next day, when we met, I learned that I was going to rob the gold shop. If I had known that Zhang Jun had asked me to go to Shapingba to rob the gold shop, I would definitely not have got. ”
She further explained that she often went there to settle payments because of her past work relationship. Almost everyone in that place knew her. If it weren't for Zhang Jun's threat, she would definitely not have the guts to rob, but at that time Zhang Jun threatened her and said, "Now that you already know my plan, you can't go if you don't go." Captain Jiang Yang asked Qin Moumou: "Why didn't you report the case?" ”
She replied: "At that time, Zhang Jun said that if you go to report the crime, he would rather die with the public security organs." But as long as he lives, he will not let me go. He also said that he would not be caught this time, so I had to go with him. ”
Threatening the mother with a child is a very vicious trick. As a mother, Qin Moumou was also coerced to participate in armed robbery, his hands were stained with blood, and he embarked on a road of no return.
3. Forcing Yan to participate in bank letter robbery
If Qin Moumou's deepest impression on the author is her heavy sigh, then Yan Moumou, another mistress detained in the Chongqing Cross-Strait Detention Center, is her tearful face.
When the author and the officers of the criminal police headquarters were waiting in the conversation room, together with the clear sound of leg irons in the corridor, there was also the cry of Yan to the escorted officers.
When she walked into the conversation room, she was already a tearful person.
In her narration, she emphasizes not only how Zhang Jun destroyed her with violence, but also how Zhang Jun pursued her frantically when she first met.
As he spoke, he struggled to raise his hand, trying to show the scars on his arm to the author. She said that there were scars of beatings or burns almost everywhere on her body, and that Zhang Jun often cried and knelt down to apologize to her every time she beat her.
Judging from the situation told by the police officers in the detention center, Zhang Jun does often have the habit of crying bitterly, and I don't know if it is a drama.
When Zhang Jun felt that there was no need to perform an emotional drama with Yan again, he quickly tore off the veil and began to use it nakedly.
Yan stressed to the author: "I did not directly participate in the robbery, but was forced by Zhang Jun to see how much money others withdrew from the bank, and then hinted at Zhang Jun with gestures." I didn't do anything else, and at that time, I was beaten badly by Zhang Jun because I refused to go..."
The most she took the initiative to say was to hope that the court could sentence her to a suspended execution, give her a chance to perform for two years, say what a cute and well-educated child she had, and repeatedly asked Deputy Captain Jiang Yang to convey this wish to the court on her behalf.

(4) "Success is also Xiao He, defeat is also Xiao He"
This idiom is a classic summary of the life of Han Xin, a hero of the founding of the Western Han Dynasty. "Chengye Xiao He" means that Han Xin became a great general was recommended by Xiao He, and "defeat also Xiao He" means that Han Xin's killing was Xiao He's strategy.
Although the idiom is inaccurate on Zhang Jun, it is also reasonable. Since 1995, although Zhang Jun has successfully evaded public security investigation through staying overnight at the mistress of Xiang, Hubei and Chongqing, it is inevitable that he will relax his vigilance in the long run. In the end, he also relaxed his vigilance because he agreed with a certain mistress in Chongqing to take something, and was arrested by the Chongqing public security organ that had long been under control.
Just as Zhang Jun picked up his things and turned to leave, several scouts who were ambushed nearby pounced on the man like tigers descending the mountain. Zhang Jun reacted extremely quickly, and after throwing down the bag, his right hand was urgently stretched out to his armpit, and Chen Guo's scout saw that his hand was fast, twisted his right hand backwards, and took away a "May Fourth" pistol that he had held in his hand (it was later found that the bullet of the gun was loaded).
Subsequently, the criminal police took off his left footwear and socks, and there was a black mole the size of a mung bean in the center of his footboard! This person is Zhang Jun, the first culprit in the series of armed robberies in Xiang, Hubei and Chongqing!
The moment to decide the life and death of Zhang Jun and his accomplices finally came at 9 a.m. on May 20, 2001. It has been a full eight months since Zhang Jun was captured on September 19, 2000, only half a month after the author last saw them.

The legal representative of the company who already has a wife and children, in the face of such a kind girl, holds a greedy scheming and gives her great courtesy.
As a girl who has not been deeply involved in the world, how can she have enough precautions and resistance. Soon, he was promoted to vice president of the company and became the secret lover of the company's legal representative.
If it is just an extramarital affair, a fruitless failed relationship, it cannot be said how badly this girl failed.
In the end, due to the company's legal person suspected of fraud, this "vice president", who had left the company involved for four years, unfortunately became the second defendant.
In the face of the cruel reality, not only the loss of money and youth, not to mention, but also the disaster of imprisonment awaits him.
But the stubborn girl made up her mind, did not give in, and was determined to make her life start all over again and not continue to ruin this wrong experience.
Therefore, with the full help of his family and relatives, he decided to do his best to refund the millions of dollars involved in the case, plead guilty and accept punishment to strive for leniency.
The original first instance sentenced him to six years' imprisonment, but after appeals by other members, the case is now being remanded.
03.
Women who are controlled cannot escape imprisonment
(1) Pleading guilty and serving a sentence in prison
Among the members of the criminal gang, Yang Moumou, the only one who married Zhang Jun, was deliberately protected by Zhang Jun and did not let her directly get blood on her hands, mainly peddling gold and silver jewelry robbed by the criminal gang.
Yang was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve, then changed to life imprisonment, and finally changed to 15 years in prison.
About 9 years of Yang Wangmou, the author met Yang Moumou in Chongqing Women's Prison. After serving nearly ten years in prison, Yang's expression is relatively dull, and his figure has changed.
She said that she did not remember talking to the author at all, and asked her again if she had seen the child, and replied that she did not know, had not seen the photo, and was said to have been sent to a welfare institution.
According to some media reports: Before leaving, the bandit Zhang Jun had a last phone call with his ex-wife in tears. On the phone, Zhang Jun said that he was sorry for his daughter and his ex-wife, and hoped that his ex-wife could take good care of the daughter born to him and Yang Moumou. After saying that, he was taken to the execution ground, and his expression was calm before being shot.
(2) The female employees who were controlled by the company involved in the case had an ill-fated fate
The legal representative of the company involved in the case always tried to maintain an ambiguous relationship with a number of female executives, and often took advantage of business trips to do it. In addition, finding ways to tie up female employees to stay in the company is the usual method: unpaid wages. As a working woman, the monthly salary is an important guarantee for the survival of the children of the family, and if they are in arrears, they will work harder to behave in the hope of receiving the arrears as soon as possible.
An even more pernicious method is to deliberately use female employees who are owed wages as joint guarantors when companies take on debt.
This trick made the female employees who were owed wages even worse, and they survived in worry and panic.
From the various methods of the legal representative of the company involved, the author seems to vaguely see the "Zhang Jun" with a mask in the business sea and lake, which makes the seemingly glamorous female employees struggle in their hearts and are difficult to get out.
For the author, whether it is to recall 20 years ago, the three mistresses who accompanied the bandit Zhang Jun to death and were immediately executed; or Yang Mouse, the wife who is married to Zhang Jun (using someone else's ID card); It is really embarrassing that the female defendants of the companies involved in the case are still working on the case.
The Zhang Jun case is over, but in the business sea, there are endless ways to control female employees, and there are many methods. In this sense, the criminal risk control of female employees, especially senior employees (such as sales directors, financial directors, etc. involved in the case), is an urgent and major issue.
