In 2013, Diao Yinan's "Daytime Fireworks" won the "Golden Bear Award" at the Berlin Film Festival, which may be the first recognition of Director Diao Yinan by many domestic media and audiences. In fact, as early as 2007, Diao Yinan was shortlisted for the "A Kind of Attention" competition unit of the Cannes Film Festival for directing "Night Train", and it was Qidao who starred in this film.

Now, when the crew of "The Party at the South Station" appeared on the red carpet in Cannes, they finally fulfilled the "dream" of these two filmmakers.
Origins - playing for the drama and speaking with acting skills
Looking back at the first cooperation between the two, Qidao's dedication impressed Diao Yinan. "There was a scene filmed in the ironworks, it was a particularly polluted place, Qidao stayed there for two days to experience life, when shooting, the boiler was particularly hot, and at any time there was molten steel splashing out, burning people, and our photography did not dare to go near at that time."
When filming another violent scene, Qidao's "acting with his life" once again made Diao Yinan remember it vividly: "The outreach producer said that the (injured) mouth opened like a baby's mouth, and the flesh was turned over, but he still called me to reassure me that I could continue shooting." The tacit cooperation of "Night Train" made Diao Yinan sigh "trustworthy", and then there was the reunion of "The Party at South Station".

Talking about this second cooperation with director Diao Yinan, Qi Dao said: "He has been improving, we are catching up with his pace, and we are very happy to create together." In the movie, Qidao also broke through himself again and played a "pimp", but Qidao, out of his understanding of the role and the grasp of the atmosphere of the film itself, still performed the role of Huahua with a different feeling: "I set Huahua as a more introverted person, who is not as good as the pimps we see in many films. This person is more introverted, silent, and even more melancholy. ”
In order to play the role of a "pimp", in-depth understanding of life is an indispensable preparation for a good actor, and Qidao is no exception. According to him, he went to some night shows in Wuhan on the night he received the script, and contacted some pimps through friends and crew. "Talk to them, drink, sing, and only if he trusts you will he talk to you more." I came into contact with all kinds of pimps, but from their words and demeanor, I could feel that they didn't want to do this profession, but were forced to make such a choice, so I felt that they actually had some people who needed help from others, and then I chose a more sad way to shape this character. ”
It is precisely because of such careful observation and the director's precise scheduling and control that Qidao has performed the role of Huahua with a new feeling, and this is also one of the most satisfactory roles of Qidao. There is also Liu Dong from "Coco Xili".
Career - "Coco Ciri" has influenced to this day
Perhaps Qidao himself did not realize that the filming of "Coco Ciri" would have such a deep impact on himself.
In the film, Qidao played liu Dong, a mountain patrol team member, who suffered a lot for the shooting of Qidao, shooting for 120 days in the low temperature of minus 40 degrees and an average altitude of 4800 meters. While filming the scene where the mountain patrolleades capture poachers, Odd Dao and the other actors take off their pants and cross the glacier, and after filming, their legs are frozen and they can't stand up, completely unconscious.
The pain outside the camera may not be felt by the audience, but the last scene of "Liu Dong is buried alive by quicksand" makes the audience look straight to the heart. Although it was "tortured" during filming, Qidao received a huge amount of attention after the release of the film. Not only has the film itself won numerous awards, but Also Qidao himself has won multiple awards and nominations, and has also laid the foundation for his own powerful acting path.
Since then, Qidao has been particularly "picky" about the script, taking more good movies as his creed, and Qidao has maintained the creation law of one movie and one TV series a year.
