Are hostages also fake? Nurhaci sent his son to the Ming Dynasty as a farce as a hostage

The rise of Nurhaci, the Ming Dynasty was very frightened, while supporting and suppressing, and sent commissioners to monitor it.

Nurhaci's performance. Nurhaci mixed in the Han circle, saw the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, followed the Ming Dynasty general Li Chengliang to the battlefield, experienced the world's cold, therefore, in the process of dealing with the Ming Dynasty generals, it is very important to pay attention to strategy, forbearance, and give him a nickname of "Honeysuckle".

The Ming Dynasty found that he "bribed Zaisai (Hadanara clan), robbed and killed Beiguan (Yehenara family), and plundered people and animals", the evidence was all there, and "feather reports" were everywhere. But for these accusations, Nurhaci swore to refuse to admit them, because he knew in his heart that curses and oaths could not change any reality, and he wanted to get rid of the control of the Ming Dynasty, and only by speaking with strength, there was dignity with strength, which was an iron law.

Ming officials' views on Nurhaci. Zhang Tao, a Ming dynasty official, always held a distrustful attitude toward Nurhaci. First of all, I questioned Nurhaci's deferential attitude. Considering Nurhaci's behavior "very suspicious", he had to send someone to visit Nurhaci's residence. The second is that Nurhaci is ungrateful. It was believed that the Ming court "spent a lot of effort, sealed his official title, and rewarded him with a reward" was useless, "it is better to raise a dog and a cat, as if it were a family's righteousness." Nurhaci "deceived China" and "like a ghost like a dragon". The Ming court said to him that "the love for Enlong has reached the extreme, and it cannot be added again; Dongyi's negative betrayal of grace has also reached the extreme, and he can no longer believe it." The teacher of the question is indispensable." In other words, the relationship between the two sides has reached the point of complete rupture.

Nurhaci's response. Faced with such a situation, Nurhaci took the following measures to dispel the doubts of the Ming court about him: First, he offered to take his son as a hostage and escort him to the Ming court to show his "loyalty". He informed Zhang Tao, the inspector of Liaodong, that if he "suspected that he was rebelling, he would be willing to send him to listen to it as a parent." Or Guangning, or stay in Beijing, but China's destiny. This is not only a tribute in kind, but also a tribute to the Ming court by his own son, as a hostage. Second, ming officials were given enough face and bribes of money and goods. Ming Dynasty officials Zhang Tao and others did not dare to be gullible, lest Nurhaci and others impersonate their sons and send them as hostages, after all, among Nurhaci's many sons, Ming officials basically did not see, except for Emperor Taiji, Daishan, Dolgun, Mang Guertai, etc., did not dare to be sloppy, and immediately sent officials to inquire and verify. Nurhaci was extremely generous to the officials sent by the Ming Dynasty, such as Dacheng, and personally went out of the village for twenty miles to greet him. "Set up wine to entertain Dacheng for three days, and very religiously gave Dacheng and other mink coats to hang seven pieces, three mink skins, nineteen red fox skins, and a saddle; and slaughtered cattle and sheep to reward Dacheng's entourage. Tearfully, he told how he admired the Ming emperor, how willingly he served the Ming Dynasty, and how he was willing to send his own son as a hostage to Quang Ninh City or to Beijing. He immediately sent his seventeen-year-old "seventh son Babuhai" to accompany Ming court officials into Fushun Pass as protons. At this point, Nurhaci fulfilled his promise to his face.

Verification by Ming officials. In the face of Nurhaci's flawless performance, the Ming dynasty official Zhang Tao still doubted the letter and immediately ordered "Careful investigation of whether it is a real son?" "However, if Nurhaci and others accepted Nurhaci's bribe, they must defend it, euphemistically saying, if Nurhaci's son is fake, my Ming Dynasty will be real, and it will be looked down upon by Nurhaci from the bottom of his heart, if Nurhaci's son is not a fake, we doubt him, Nurhaci must resent us, which means, just admit it, check it is not right, not check it is not right.

However, Zhang Tao, the inspector of Liaodong, was not so foolish, and he still privately sent people to investigate, one was official channels, "Soon, Fushun Beiyu reported: "Cha Dejin Lainu Chieftain, male, Babhai, is the third concubine of Nurhaci and the second son born to Brother Zhen." The eldest son's name is Babutai, and the second son's name is Babuhai... Actually the man of the slave chieftain". He also asked Dong Guoyun, the general secretary (translator), and also proved that "the seventh male in the rank of the slave chief." From a young age, it is common to see life, and it is not known today." The second is unofficial channels, "secret inquiries into the market to buy and sell Yiren, the same words." And watch the action go to the end, and the people are afraid of it, and they are really true sons." It can be seen that the officials of the Ming Dynasty are delicate in this work. After Zhang Tao, the governor of Liaodong Province, roughly ascertained the truth, he allowed Nurhaci's son Babuhai to be "imported into Quang Ninh City", and the Liaodong officials at this time were like getting "hot potatoes".

Played leather ball inside the Ming Dynasty. Is Nurhaci really obedient, or is there something else he wants? Zhang Tao believed that Nurhaci's deference was too unreasonable, and in order to prevent accidents, they decided to turn over the contradiction and throw the hot potato to the military department. Therefore, Zhang Tao, together with the governor of Jiliao, Yushi Xue Sancai, and the inspector of Shandong, Yushi Zhang Wudian, demanded that the bingbu give specific opinions, "the subordinate bingbu should be investigated: the slave should be returned; or live in Guangning, or go to Beijing; and all official reward matters"; at the same time, he indicated that "his stay, the ambition of the wolf, did not allow the stability of snoring; he did not stay, and Yao Tianshun did not hear about the seedlings that refused to come to Gezhi." Bingbu was not a vegetarian either, threw the hot potato back again, weighed it up again, and finally decided to return to the "proton".

The military department believes that "it is difficult to distinguish between true and false, and it is better to leave it behind than to return it." The Ming court eventually adopted the advice of the military department and returned the "protons", ending the farce. It should be pointed out that the excuse here that "authenticity is difficult to distinguish" is a pretext, and it is the truth that Nurhaci is afraid of provoking Nurhaci. The weakness of the Ming Dynasty made Nurhaci's ambitions expand again, and soon, Nurhaci once again attacked the Yehenara family, which was close to the Ming Dynasty, and snatched property everywhere. Tan Qian once commented, "I am ignorant of control and indulgence, and I play with people's ears in the palm of my hand."

Nurhaci knew that in order to resist the Ming Dynasty, he must rely on the power of the Mongols, and in December of the thirty-fourth year of the Wanli Calendar (1606), he personally received the envoys of the five Beylers of Khalkha, and has been in contact with the Mongols ever since. With the support of the Five Khalkha Ministries, Jianzhou also became more and more tough on the Ming Dynasty. With the great increase in strength, Nurhaci changed his usual meek face, and from June of the thirty-fourth year of the Wanli Calendar (1606), he no longer paid tribute to the Ming Dynasty, but also forced the purchase and sale of ginseng and mink skins throughout Liaodong, gathered wealth, built weapons, trained soldiers and horses, sent spies, and spied on the ming dynasty's frontier defenses. The Governor of Liaodong province, Jianda, was deeply worried about this, and explained Nurhaci's disobedience to the imperial court, demanding that the defense of the Liaodong frontier be strengthened, and that Nurhaci be beaten from time to time to prevent it from becoming bigger. The officials of the Ministry of Rites, estimated to have internal traitors, did not advocate the immediate use of force against Jianzhou, and suggested that pressure be put on Jianzhou by removing the city reward, and at this time, the Wanli Emperor indulged in fighting with the cabinet all day, did not go to the dynasty for many years, and the government was abandoned, but at the time of the national crisis, the cabinet still withstood the pressure and was soft and Nurhaci, and in September of the same year, Jianzhou sent envoys under the pressure of the Ming court to request the restoration of tribute, which was allowed by the Wanli Emperor, and the relationship between Ming and Jianzhou was temporarily eased.

Nurhaci's son sent the Ming Dynasty as a proton, which is Nurhaci's temptation to the Ming Dynasty, which can be said to be a farce, and the only one who gains is Nurhaci. The Ming Dynasty, which had rotted internally, began to decline rapidly.
