Welcome the centenary of the founding of the party
I first met the name "Yang Xianjiang" in middle school.
In Cixi, most of our high school names here are mainly place names, in this case "Yang Xianjiang Middle School" is a bit of a maverick meaning, which is also my first impression of the name "Yang Xianjiang". By chance, my teacher assigned a small essay on the story of a local celebrity. After consulting the relevant materials, I have a deeper understanding of Yang Xianjiang, an early member of the Communist Party of China.

Yang Xianjiang, a native of Cixi, Zhejiang Province, is china's earliest Marxist education theorist, an outstanding leader of the youth movement, and a staunch communist fighter. He has been excellent in character and excellent since childhood, and has a persistent pursuit of education, the principal of Zhejiang First Normal School, Jing Hengyi, appreciates him very much, and recommends him to Nanjing Higher Normal School, and the teacher Li Shutong also introduced tao Xingzhi to the school, so that Yang Xianjiang can quickly become a volunteer of the school after graduation; in 1919, the May Fourth Movement broke out, Yang Xianjiang made a calm analysis and summary of the movement, and the article "New Lessons" written by him was published in the "Student Magazine", which for the first time attracted the attention of the national intellectual circles; in February 1921, Yang Xianjiang was hired by the Compilation Office of the Shanghai Commercial Press as the editor of the Student Magazine, which was one of the important activity venues of the Shanghai Communist Group at that time, where Yang Xianjiang began to systematically study Marxism. In May 1922, through the introduction of Shen Yanbing and Dong Yixiang, Yang Xianjiang officially joined the Communist Party of China.

In addition to his own excellent personal life, what influenced me the most was his party membership temperament in a critical situation.
In the summer of 1927, Shanghai was still shrouded in a severe white terror. Under the butcher's knife of Chiang Kai-shek's reactionaries, a large number of Communists and revolutionaries were thrown into prison and sent to the execution ground, and the souls of many people trembled, and they publicly published a notice of leaving the party and leaving the revolutionary ranks in order to survive.
In this situation, Yang Xianjiang showed the excellent qualities of a true communist -- he was firm and composed, unwavering in the revolutionary cause, still studied and studied in a planned way, exercised his body, and carried out party work; he often discussed problems and studied work with Li Qiushi and Zhang Qiuren, and infected and educated others with firm conviction and revolutionary spirit.
Once, Zhang Qiuren held a newspaper full of "notices for leaving the party" and pointed to Yang Xianjiang: "I have long seen that these people are speculators, and it is not unusual for them to leave the party, but-" He pointed to a person's name and said angrily: "I regard this person as a good person, and now I am doing this kind of thing!" Yang Xianjiang just smiled lightly, paused for a moment, and whispered: "What is the harm in letting all the speculators leave?" Although Yang Xianjiang's words were not much, they made Zhang Qiuren feel an inner confidence and strength. Soon, the Party Central Committee sent Zhang Qiuren to Hangzhou to serve as the secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, but he was arrested by the Kuomintang at West Lake and imprisoned in the Hangzhou Army Prison, and there was no hope of rescue. When Yang Xianjiang heard the news, he could not suppress his angry feelings, and for several days he sat restlessly and showed great pain for the death of his revolutionary comrades.
In the complex environment at that time, many young people were educated from Yang Xianjiang's words and deeds and recognized the direction. Xia Yan once recalled: "In the middle of this summer, when I met Comrade Xianjiang in the editorial office of a small bookstore, I discovered from among the revolutionaries of intellectuals a kind of tenacity and down-to-earth quality of being able to recognize the bright vision of the Chinese revolution in the most sinister environment, to adhere to faith and loyalty to the party, and not to be anxious nor pessimistic. But even in his very brief speech we clearly felt that his confidence in the cause of the revolution, and the violent oppression imposed on us by all the reactionaries, were bound to fail in the face of the counterattack of the whole people. When the white terror enveloped the whole of China, I deeply felt the arrogance and solemnity of a revolutionary intellectual as a Communist Party member from his serene and calm attitude. ”
Yang Xianjiang was a revolutionary standard-bearer with unlimited loyalty to the party, and with his firm revolutionary ideals, selfless revolutionary will, and fearless spirit of sacrifice, he practiced the oath he wrote in his diary of his youth: "Stepping on the stars for a day and shaking the rivers and mountains with his hands", and made outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause. Even at the most urgent moment of the revolution, he could base himself on the guiding ideology of Marxism, strengthen his original intention of joining the party, influence the people around him with the temperament of a party member, and adhere to his faith in the party and confidence in the revolutionary cause. When I first learned about his relevant deeds, I only regarded that kind of sacrifice and dedication as a characteristic of a great man, but after I deeply understood the Chinese Communist Party, I realized that this was the temperament of party membership and the concrete expression of the party spirit of the Chinese Communist Party.
The phrase "stepping on the stars for a day and shaking the rivers and mountains with his hands" fully reflects his indomitable spirit and lofty ambition at the low tide of the revolution, and embodies the spiritual realm and personality of a revolutionary with profound knowledge and diligence, and this is also the most true portrayal of Comrade Yang Xianjiang's life. Then, based on the new era of the centenary of the founding of the party, we as young party members should base ourselves on the complex environment at home and abroad, put forward higher requirements for the development of our own comprehensive quality, cultivate a party member temperament, not forget the original intention, forge ahead with the spirit of perseverance, and become a pioneer model trusted by the masses around us and serving all sectors of society.
