Li Dongyang (1447-1516), also spelled Binzhi, was a native of Chaling Prefecture, Changsha Province, Ming Dynasty. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, the core figures of the Chaling poetry school were poets, calligraphers, and politicians. Li Dongyang was quite conceited about his seal book, saying to himself: "After Li Si and Li Yangbing, even if I am a child." "He is one of the few seal calligraphers in the Ming Dynasty and has a certain influence on the seal inscription of the Ming Dynasty."
