Taiwan's political scene is magical: Chen Shui-bian applied twice to join the Kuomintang, and Tsai Ing-wen grew up drinking authoritarian milk

author:Straits Herald

A Taiwanese friend who works in a KMT think tank recently sent me more than a dozen old archival photos, which were the applications of the Green Camp tycoons to join the KMT in their early years, including Chen Shui-bian, Xie Changting, You Xikun, Annette Lu, and Ke Jianming. Although the relevant news and taiwan media have also reported it before, they are still shocked to see these files with their own eyes, and there is a sense of time confusion.

Ironically, Chen Shui-bian, who is now regarded as a spiritual leader by the "pro-independence faction," applied to join the Kuomintang twice during his college years, the first time in January 1970, when Chen was a student of the Department of Business studies at National Taiwan University and was introduced to the party by teachers and classmates; the second time was in August of the same year, when he was transferred to the law department of National Taiwan University and introduced to the party by his classmates. As a result of joining the party twice, Chen Shui-bian also has two party card names, which is quite rare.

Chen Shui-bian, who was so eager to demand "progress" at that time, finally went so far as to represent the opposition forces in defeating the Kuomintang and making Taiwan a heavenly change.

"Green Committee" Huang Guoshu was revealed to have been an informant of the intelligence system in his early years, responsible for monitoring people outside the party, and after the news was exposed, he announced his withdrawal from the DPP. The famous mouth revealed that the Green Camp people who had been informants in the authoritarian era were far more than Huang Guoshu. Xie Changting, who had joined the Kuomintang, had made a lot of noise in the past few years when he "grabbed the rake storm."

The DPP has hyped up the Huang Guoshu incident, and the outside world speculates that there are the following possible reasons: 1. Diverting the focus of the Kaohsiung fire; 2. "rescuing" Chen Baiwei, who was caught in the vortex of recall; 3. The Consumer KMT was once an authoritarian political party.

If Huang Guoshu's behavior is "speculation", then the people who speculate about this matter are "power plots", and the current DPP has long been occupied by speculators and power plots, and it is almost impossible for people with ideals and ambitions to survive in this sauce pot.

In fact, Tsai Ing-wen herself grew up drinking "authoritarian milk", in the past in the era of Kuomintang rule, she was the object of key cultivation, enjoying the high-ranking official Houlu; when the KMT lost power, Tsai Ing-wen was the first political elite to jump ship to join the DPP, no wonder Taipei City Councilor Luo Zhiqiang posted a scolding today, she is a complete opportunist.

Looking at the application of the DPP bigwig to join the KMT in his early years, and then looking at the Green Camp's hot speculation about the "line people's incident" and teasing the KMT for being very "authoritarian," it really makes people lament that Taiwan's political arena is very magical.
