After investigation, the outlet belongs to the outsourcing store of the communication operator, which can handle mobile phone number purchase, recharge, package change and other services for the masses, and its operator is Zhen Moumou (48 years old, from Lianchi District). In the course of business, Zhen took advantage of the convenience of the outlet business to place the two-dimensional code of other online media platforms in the storefront, and used eggs, rice noodles, paper drawing, etc. as "gifts" to attract customers to scan the code.
There is no free lunch in the world, and Zhen Moumou sent such a "gift" to attract customers to scan the code, in fact, in order to earn the commission of "going home". Originally, as long as the mobile phone user scanned the two-dimensional code and then informed Zhen of the SMS verification code, Zhen could feedback that he "went to the house" to complete a "task" and obtain a commission from it. Through further digging by the Lianchi police, it was found that after the mobile phone numbers and other information of these people were obtained by criminals, most of them were used to carry out malicious speculation on online media platforms, and even illegal and criminal activities such as telecommunications network fraud. Since March 2020, Zhen has sent more than 10,000 mobile phone numbers and verification codes, and collected a total of more than 5,000 yuan in benefit fees.

At present, the criminal suspect Zhen Moumou has been criminally detained in accordance with law for the crime of infringing on citizens' personal information, and the case is being further investigated.
Baoding Internet Police Tips: Trafficking in citizens' personal information to obtain illegal benefits is a criminal act and will eventually be punished by law. Pursuant to article 253 of China's Criminal Law, the sale or provision of citizens' personal information to others in violation of relevant state regulations, or the sale or provision of citizens' personal information obtained in the course of performing duties or providing services in violation of relevant state regulations, may be punished by up to 7 years' imprisonment.
