Youth and faith in the fires of war

author:I was listening to the rain tick ticking

There are such a group of elderly people who are ordinary, persistent, cordial, and conscientious; they teach young party members to stick to a heart of loyalty to the party, let young party members tighten a string of adhering to discipline, and show young cadres a way to exalt their ideals.

The red memory is indelible and unforgettable. Although people are old, the party's heart is still there. Veteran party members are heroes in the cause of the party and the people and are the "treasure" within our party.

Sun Baifu, a native of ZhumanWu Village, Fangcheng Town, Lanshan District, joined the Communist Party of China in June 1949.

Comrade Sun Baifu joined the army in January 1946, in order to overthrow the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang, strive for national independence, the people's freedom and happiness, in the revolution without fear of hardship, not afraid of bloodshed, continuous combat, with firm ideals and convictions and fearless spirit of sacrifice, actively plunged himself into the torrent of the great liberation of the Chinese people, and successively participated in more than a dozen battles, large and small, such as the Battle of Menglianggu, the Battle of Yanzhou, the Battle of Jinan, the Battle of Huaihai, the Battle of Crossing the River, the Liberation of Shanghai, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. His teenage years were baptized by the flames of war.

In the Battle of Jiudingshan in 1948, the instructor's leg was blown off by the enemy and he could not stand, but he still did not flinch, lying on a large rock and holding a flag high to direct the battle. This spirit of fearlessness left a profound impact on Comrade Sun Baifu and increased his determination to carry out the revolution to the end.

In June 1949, during the liberation of Shanghai, Sun Baifu resolutely rushed to the front line to deliver explosive packages, and at the moment of crisis, blew up the enemy's bunker. Because of his heroic performance, he gloriously joined the party. When joining the party, in the face of the question of "why did you join the party," with an excited and extremely reverential mood, he resolutely replied: "Serve the people, struggle for national liberation, and struggle for socialism." "After holding the conviction, after joining the party, he took an active part in the revolutionary struggle, and in the battle of Zhenziya, he blew up a den of the enemy and made a third-class merit.

In 1950, he participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, made neutral contributions to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and won a commemorative medal.

He was demobilized in December 1955 and returned to the village to serve as the chief custodian and branch member of the Union Society. From 1958 to 1978, he served as a member of the Zhumanqian village branch, actively publicized the party's line, principles and policies, responded to the party's call, and worked hard to consolidate the newborn revolutionary regime and establish a happy life.

He always kept in mind a saying: "Since he is a communist, he must not fade when he retires from the army, not to disgrace the party, and not to smear the party."

He is an old party member who will always maintain his true colors, he was born into death to defend his family and defend the country during the war, silently dedicated himself to defending his homeland in peacetime, and used his life to interpret the power of the faith of communist party members.
