For the first time, the endangered species of sambar deer was artificially photographed in the Marco River forest area of the eastern part of Sanjiangyuan

Xining, October 8 (Sun Rui) "On the 6th, Jacob Dorje and I photographed a number of wild sambar deer activities near the village of Guomang in Yaertang Township, Banma County, which is located in the marco river forest area of the eastern section of the Sanjiangyuan, which is also the first time that the sambar deer habitat has been photographed artificially in the area. Cao Minkai, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Banma County Party Committee in Qinghai Province, told reporters on the 8th.

The sambar deer feel sensitive, alert and good at running, so as long as there is wind and grass, it will basically run around and flee from areas that may threaten itself, which is a second-level key protected wild animal in China, which was listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2008. The male has a thick three-pointed horn, the longest of which is up to 1 meter, the coat color is light brown or black brown, the female deer is slightly red, likes to move after sunset, has no fixed nest, and has the habit of vertical migration along the hillside.

"Previously, we were all infrared cameras recording sambar deer, and this time it is not easy to shoot manually." Cao Minkai said that according to incomplete statistics, there are about hundreds of sambar deer living here in the county, and although the shooting picture is a little shaky, it is very precious and not easy.

"When filming the video, the sambar deer jumped and frolicked in the woods, which was particularly lively and cute." Yag Dorje, a reporter from the Banma County Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television, said.

"In recent years, with the increase of official ecological restoration and protection efforts in Banma County, the ecological environment has improved significantly, the number of animals and plants has increased significantly, and wild protected animals have been frequently protected." Cao Minkai said.

Zhao Xiang, director of the Sanjiangyuan Project of the Shanshui Nature Conservation Center, previously said that the Marco River forest area in the eastern section of the Sanjiangyuan is the most abundant ungulate species known in Qinghai, among which the woolly crested deer, musk musk, Chinese iguana and impala are numerous, and the population is in a healthy state.
