Girls are always told to test themselves, to have self-esteem, to love themselves, but they forget to teach boys how to respect and protect women. The movie "Girl with a Bright Future" tells about the deep-seated prejudices in human nature.
Cathy, 30, graduated from medical science and is a waitress at a small-town café. According to her parents and neighbors, Cathy is a loser in life, a freak in the town. Because she is 30 years old, she does not make friends, does not marry, and has a withdrawn personality.
But she used to be the best in medical school, easy at doing anything, and a girl with a bright future. Now she has become a marginal figure in society.
All change comes from a sudden event.
Nina, Cathy's friend, grew up together and fell in love with sisters. One day, Nina went to a party, and after being maliciously drunk, she was sexually assaulted by a male classmate in front of everyone.
After the incident, the rapist was not punished, but the victim Nina suffered a lot of criticism. Because people think that Nina was sexually assaulted because of her own impropriety, such as going to a party and getting drunk.
Unable to withstand the pressure of the outside world, Nina, overwhelmed, chose to commit suicide.
Cathy was devastated, and she thought she was responsible, and if she had gone with Nina, it wouldn't have happened. As a result, she had a bright future, dropped out of medical school and began to implement a plan of revenge.
During the day, she works in a coffee shop in a formal manner; at night, she wears heavy makeup, wears high heels and dresses in the bar in the night, and by sacrificing herself, she is "picked up" (after a woman gets drunk in a bar, strange men will take the opportunity to take them home and sexually assault them) to retaliate against the men. Cathy's real purpose is to find and take revenge on the boys one by one.
Apparently, Cathy sacrificed herself in order to confirm a certain reality, and as a result, her path to revenge did not go well.
Because society has never been friendly to female victims, and for those who commit violence, there are various reasons to forgive and give up retrospection. Even as women, there is a lack of understanding and compassion for the women who have been victims of sexual assault, and what is more, they prefer to listen to and believe that the victim's own misconduct and debauchery are preferred rather than condemning the responsibility of the male abuser.
Therefore, in the film, it is obvious that the victims of sexual assault after drunkenness, but in all the population, women have become the ones who make mistakes, and they have become poor worms who are laughed at by everyone.
In this case, Nina's case, it was for this reason that it was sealed by an unjust result. And the abuser at that time, he left his hometown to become a hospital anesthesiologist, and even had a fiancée, living a happy and happy life...
Some of the bystanders who witnessed Nina's sexual assault became pediatricians, some became heroes who saved lives and helped the injured, in short, no one suffered because of Nina's case. In contrast, the victim, Nina, commits suicide in anger because her quest for justice has failed.
The saying of adults, including teachers, is that boys cannot ruin their lives just because they are wrong about this. And the grief and helplessness of the victimized girl, no one knows and cares.
Cathy was furious.
In desperation, she chose to sacrifice her hue, pretending to be drunk in a bar, constantly looking for the perpetrator of the year. Sure enough, one day she finally met the man and tricked the abuser into taking her back to his residence. Just as the abuser intends to violate her, Cathy manages to get him to confide in the crime he had committed against Nina and inform the abuser that he is avenging Nina.
At this point in the film, the general plot routine is usually that the perpetrator is brought to justice, Cathy's revenge is successful, and Nina's grievances are justified. But the cleverness of this film, even the despair, is that the story does not develop in this way.
When the abuser learns that the woman under him is Cathy, who has come to seek revenge, in order to escape his guilt, the abuser grabs Cathy's neck and prepares to kill her.
In the film, she struggles and gradually gives up resistance. Although from the audience's point of view, Cathy actually has a good chance of getting rid of the perpetrator's killing. But apparently, the director made Cathy give up her self-struggle and let her voluntarily die at the hands of the abuser.
Cathy used her own death to make the abuser pay a real price for her crimes, so that he could no longer escape the trial of the law. This ending is tragic and depressing.
Obviously, what Cathy defends with her death is exactly what people do not care about in their daily lives: women want to maintain their bodies, not being taken away after getting drunk does not mean being able to be arbitrarily violated, in the current social environment and prejudice, it is so difficult!
When individuals cannot resist the pressure of social groups, when sexual assault perpetrators are easily pardoned, when women dress sexily, they will be regarded as misbehavior and deserve to be violated, when women also sneer at the victims, people seem to consider all factors, but only ignore the rights and interests of the victims, and think that everything that happens comes from the women themselves.
This naked, innate prejudice is at the root of the recurrence of such incidents.
How unfortunate it is that women must live under this social prejudice; how fortunate it is that someone has seen through it all and has already thought and reflected on it.
In any case, believing in the justice and fairness of society is naïve and naïve. Although people have begun to reflect, before the prejudice is changed, the most important things that girls should learn and remember are these simple rules and methods:
First, strict self-discipline, do not go to dangerous places
Second, be on high alert and don't trust others easily
Third, fully understand human nature, the evil in human nature will change with the environment at any time, perhaps when they show goodness
These methods seem simple and useless, but they are effective tools for women's self-protection. Whether consciously or behaviorally, women must adhere to one principle: avoid all the possibility of malignant events.
Girls, live towards your inner self, and don't care about the opinions of others or the outside world. If your existence and ideals do not harm society and benefit others, then brave persistence is your only and right choice.
Cathy's "revenge" or rebellion is not advisable, nothing, and worth a woman's self-destruction and sacrifice of her life. The best way to fight is to live a wonderful life, so that prejudice and discrimination can be wiped out.
