——Wang Yue, "Climbing the Stairs"

In the fourth year (193) of Emperor Chuping of the Han Dynasty, the 17-year-old Talented Son of Shanyang Commandery (present-day Juye County, Heze City, Shandong Province) Wang Yue, in order to escape Dong Zhuo's rebellion, went south to Jingzhou to join his fellow villager and hereditary Jingzhou Mu Liu Biao, but did not expect to stay in Jingzhou for fifteen years. In fact, the Jingzhou seat where Wang Cang lived was now Xiangyang, so the place where Wang Cang lived was not the current Jingzhou, but Xiangyang.

Wang Cang was born in a famous and prestigious family, great-grandfather Wang Gong served as a lieutenant during the Han Shun Emperor, grandfather Wang Chang served as Sikong during the Han Ling Emperor, and his father Wang Qian served as the long history of the great general He Jin, but Wang Cang was not enthusiastic about the career, but liked literature, and read poetry from an early age, and later he and Kong Rong, Chen Lin, Xu Gan, Ruan Yu, Ying Yue and Liu Zhen were called the Seven Sons of Jian'an, and it is said that among the seven sons of Jian'an, Wang Yue had the highest literary achievements.

Wang Cang, who defected to Liu Biao, was not appreciated by Liu Biao, so Wang Cang has always been depressed. At that time, it was the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the mountains and rivers were broken, the world was in turmoil, and he could not return to his home, but could only drift in other places, and this kind of ambition was difficult to reward the emotion, which made him very uncomfortable. When I climbed the city tower once, I looked around and a song "Climbing the Tower" was sent out with feeling. Later, in order to commemorate the "Denglou Fu" written by the talented son Wang Yue, people named the city tower where Wang Yue climbed as Zhongxuan Lou, and Zhongxuan was The character of Wang Cang. Because Wang Yue once wrote "Denglou Fu" on this floor, many Wenran rioters of later dynasties also competed to climb The Zhongxuan Building, and they used this to either yongshi nostalgia, worry about the world and the people, or borrow the scenery lyrically, homesick Mingzhi, and for a while Zhongxuanlou became a cultural famous building in Xiangyang City.

Introduction to Zhongxuan Building

Zhongxuan Tower is located on the city wall in the southeast corner of the ancient city of Xiangyang, also known as Wang Yue Lou. During the Ming Dynasty, The Prefect of Xiangyang Zhou Shaoji built the southeast corner tower of the ancient city at the location of today's Zhongxuan Tower, named it Zhongxuan Lou in order to commemorate Wang Cang's "Denglou Fu", and asked his friend Wang Shizhen to compose a poem "Zhongxuan Lou", because of the war and other reasons, Zhongxuan Lou was later destroyed, during the Qing Yongzheng period Xiangyang Deputy Shi Zhao Hongen rebuilt the Zhongxuan Tower on the site, Qianlong twenty-five years Xiangyang prefect Hu Yi rebuilt, and later the rebuilt Zhongxuan Lou was destroyed again in the war.

The Zhongxuan Building we see now was rebuilt by the local government in 1993 on the site of the Zhongxuan Building. The entire Zhongxuan Building is 17 meters high, with a total area of about 650 square meters, and is divided into three parts: the city wall, the city platform and the main building. Zhongxuan Building, together with the Yellow Crane Tower and Qingchuan Pavilion in Wuhan, Hubei, and the Yueyang Tower in Yueyang, Hunan, are known as the four famous buildings of Chutian.

At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the literati district daxiang climbed the newly built Zhongxuan Building after coming to Xiangyang once and wrote this poem "Xiangyang Zhongxuanlou":

Drifting according to Liu Ri, sad and cold as a year. Homeless floating Han Shui, there are guests reminiscing about Qin Chuan.

Outside the floating clouds of the country, before the rivers and lakes fall in front of the geese. Although the time is different, the nostalgia is sad.

In the earlier Tang Dynasty, the famous poet Du Fu went to Jingzhou to bid farewell to the history of Jianzhou, and wrote a poem "Will Go to Jingnan to Send Farewell to Li Jianzhou", in which he also wrote Zhongxuanlou:

Passing through the double unkempt sideburns, the sky into the waves of a fishing boat.

When the horses met, the spring breeze looked back at ZhongxuanLou.

More than 1,800 years after Wang Cang ascended the Zhongxuan Building and wrote "Denglou Fu", I also came to the Zhongxuan Building in Xiangyang, although this is no longer the Zhongxuan Building that Wang Cang climbed in the past, nor the Zhongxuan Building that was later visited by the Great Minister of the Literati District in the late Ming Dynasty, but here you can still feel the historical atmosphere emitted by the ancient city of Xiangyang and the cultural atmosphere emitted by this building. Although the talented Wang Yue was only a hurried visitor to the ancient city of Xiangyang, this Zhongxuan Building made history remember Wang Cang, let the people of Xiangyang remember Wang Cang, and also let me, the hometown of Wang Cang, re-acquaint myself with Wang Cang.
