When I was a child, I usually ate in the canteen, only white steamed buns, and sometimes there were meat buns, and on Sundays, adults took us to Chong'an Temple, and at the Imperial Pavilion snack shop, we could eat plum blossom cakes. The master set up a large stove at the entrance of the store, used a mold made of iron plate, poured into the batter, stuffed into the middle, sprinkled with red and green melon shreds on the surface, flipped up and down on the stove to bake, until the burnt taste came out, turned into the front, inserted into the plum blossom cake with a steel braze, extracted, the face of the burnt yellow overdone, it was left on the side and not sold, anyway, the quality is not good, leave for self-use, so it will not be much, not a waste. Decades later, these memories are still buried deep in the cerebral cortex, dangling before our eyes.
The plum blossom cake is delicious, the name is good, and the big plum blossoms, spraying incense, bloom on the street food shop, make Wuxi, a city of mountains and rivers, have a distant place and poetry. Wuxi's city flower is plum blossoms, with such food, plum blossoms have more personality, matching it, there are "tiger paws", that is no filling solid, such as soil bread, tiger stepping on the snow, leaving also plum blossom foot claw marks, childhood, leaving how many such interesting impressions, people are reluctant to give up. On such a rainy day, holding an umbrella, holding a plum blossom cake, walking through the streets at dusk, there is a kind of warmth that comforts the wind and rain.
