Guan Ren this person is not good-looking, short and ugly, does not speak in tune, and likes to drink, the overall personal image feels similar to Ji Gong, everyone likes him but does not respect him.
When Guan Ruan was eight or nine years old, he liked to look at the stars and study astronomy, and when he grew up, he taught himself "Zhou Yi" to be proficient in divination and fortune telling.
In the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Guan Ren's appearance is in the sixty-ninth "Bu Zhou Yi Guan Ru Zhi Ji Jie Ji
This time, the background is that Cao Cao's first conquest of Fusu, at night Ganning Hundred Horsemen attacked Cao's camp at night, frightening Cao Cao and retreating. After Cao Cao returned, he threw a feast, during which Zuo Ci performed a magical magic trick, Cao Cao believed that this was a magic trick to capture Zuo Ci, but he was teased by Zuo Ci, and then he fell seriously ill and had no cure. At this time, Taishi Cheng Xu Zhi came to Xuchang to see Cao Cao, and he recommended Guan Yuan to Cao Cao.
Xu Zhi told Cao Cao a long paragraph of magical "ghost stories" about Guan Rui, which were all "Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The records in the "Biography of Guan Yuan" were moved out unchanged, and I will pick a few special points to tell you about.
1, the pipe is accurate
There was a local man named Guo En, and all three of their brothers suddenly had lame legs (prodigy), so they let Guan Ren tell fortunes. Guan Ren calculated a gua and said, "It is said that there is a grave in your house, and one of the women is a ghost who has been wronged, that is your uncle." In the past, in order to rob her of a few liters of rice, someone pushed her into the well, and also pushed down a large stone to smash her aunt to death, so the lone soul complained to the heavens and cried out for injustice. Hearing these words, Guo En immediately cried and confessed his sins.
Guan Rui and Wang Ji played very well, and Wang Ji often managed to discuss the I Ching together. There was a letter in the place under Wang Ji's jurisdiction, and his wife often suffered from head winds and his son had angina pectoris ("Guan Yuan" is that the female relatives in the family were frightened for no reason and fell ill one after another). "There are two dead men at the west end of your north house, one with a spear and one with a bow and arrow, with his head inside the wall and his feet outside the wall." The person holding the spear stabs the head, so has a headache. The man with the bow and arrow stabbed him in the chest and abdomen, so his heart ached."
Wang Ji asked Xin Duling to go home and dig it up, and Xin Duling dug eight feet deep and sure enough, there were two coffins, one with a spear and one with a bow and arrow. So the county order sent people to dig up the bones and bury them ten miles outside the city, and the illness of the female relatives in the family was cured.
2, the pipe can guess things in the air
Zhuge Yuan moved to Xinxing Taishou, and Guan Ren and others went to see him off. The guests arrived, and Zhuge Yuan personally took the swallow egg, the honeycomb and the spider and put them in the container, allowing the guests to guess and entertain. Guan Rui said: "The first thing, the qi changes, lives on the beam, the male and female are different, the wings are stretched, this is the swallow egg." The second thing, its nest hanging, doors and windows are extremely numerous, collecting treasures but at the same time poisonous, autumn liquid, this is a honeycomb. The third thing, long-legged spit silk, catches prey by the web, and is most advantageous at night, which is the spider. "Everyone in this room was amazed.
Pingyuan Taishou Liu Ying bīn put the seal sac and pheasant feathers in a container for Guan Ren to guess what was inside. Guan Ru said: "The inner square and the outer circle are written in five colors; with treasure and trustworthiness, there is a chapter when it comes out: this seal bag is also." The second is: there are birds in the rocks, brocade zhuyi; wings are yellow, and the song does not lose the morning: this mountain chicken feather is also "Liu Ying was horrified, and then waited to be managed as a guest."
3, can calculate the number of birth and death
According to Xu Zhi's final narrative in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Guan Ren can not only calculate the number of fates but also change his life.
One day Guan Rui met a teenager in the field farming, and after some inquiry, he learned that the teenager was only 19 years old, and Guan Ru said: "You will die in three days, it is a pity that you died so handsome and so young." The boy immediately went home to tell his father, who cried and begged for help. Guan Ren asked them to prepare a pot of wine and a piece of venison, and when they went to a big tree in Nanshan in the next day, there would be two people wearing red robes and one white robe playing chess. Let them eat the wine and meat you brought when they are in full swing, and when they finish eating the so-called short mouth of the so-called eater, they will have to help you with the short hand of the other."
The next day the young man went up the mountain to do the same as Guan Ru said, the red-robed master brother said that this must be Guan Ru taught you, the white robe master brother added an extra word to the young man's life and death book, from nineteen years old to ninety-nine years old death. However, the white-robed master instructed Guan Ren to go back and bring words, and not to divulge the heavenly opportunity in the future, otherwise he would be punished by heaven. Since then, Guan Ren is no longer easy to calculate for people.
Cao Cao listened to Xu Zhi's account of the great joy, and ordered someone to summon Guan Ren, who gave Cao Cao some auspicious words of great wealth and nobility, etc. Cao Cao knew that these were all false, or he would help me to divinate the current situation in Western Shu and Eastern Wu. Guan Ru pinched his fingers and said
"The Lord of Eastern Wu died a great general, and western Shu had soldiers who violated the boundary." Cao Cao did not believe it, at this time someone suddenly came to report that Lu Su had died, Cao Cao was shocked, so he sent someone to inquire about the news of Hanzhong, and within a few days the Fei report came saying that Liu Xuande had sent Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, and the attack on Xiajian, Cao was furious, and he wanted to lead his own soldiers into Hanzhong again. Before the war, Cao Cao again asked Guan Ru to divinate, and this time Guan Ru said: "Xu has a fire." Cao Cao listened to Guan's words and did not dare to act rashly, and later Geng Ji and they set fire to Cao's camp.

In romance of the Three Kingdoms. In the "Biography of Guan Ren", such as Wang Ji and Zhong Hui's brother Zhong Yu, it can be seen that guan Ru lived in the Wei and Jin dynasties, and Cao Cao had already hung up.
Also, the first point is that Wang Ji was too punctual until the time of Cao Shuang Bingzheng, which was more than twenty years behind the Battle of Wushu in 213. However, Cao Cao and Zuo Ci have an intersection, which is mentioned in the Book of Later Han. It is written in the Biography of Zuo Ci, and naturally it is not this time background in the interpretation.
The fire in Xudu, which we mention in the "Biography of Hua Tuo", was in 218, that is, when the Battle of Hanzhong was fought, Geng Ji and the Tai Doctor Ling Jiben, Si Zhi Wei Huang and others launched a rebellion and burned the military camp of Cao Cao's chang Shi Wangbi. The account here in the "Yanyi" transitions from 213 to 218, of course, it is also possible. Historically, Cao Cao's failure to go out in the first half of 218 was naturally not the reason for Guan Ru divination, but during this time, the focus of his work was on the issue of Li Si, and the Hanzhong issue was handed over to Cao Xiu, but in the autumn Cao Cao personally went out to attack Liu Bei.
Final question, if the "Yanyi" is a fabrication of the section of Guan Ru's fortune telling, then does the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" record that Guan Ru deduced the fortune number?

Guan Ren went to visit Wei Jun's Taishou Zhong Yu and discussed Zhou Yi. Guan Ren said, "Bu Zheng can know the day of your life and death." Zhong Yu didn't believe it and asked Guan Ru to calculate which day he was born, and the result was that Guan Ru was really right. Zhong Yu was surprised: "You are so terrible. I entrust the day of my death to heaven, but I dare not entrust it to you. So I didn't dare to count again.
Zhong Yu asked Guan Ren again, "Will the world be peaceful?" Guan Ruan said: "Fang Is now four or nine days flying, Seeing Lord Li, Shen Wu shengjian, wang Dao civilization, why worry about peace?" Zhong Yu did not understand Guan Ren's words. Soon, Cao Shuang and others were killed, and Zhong Yu woke up.
Guan Ren calculates his own destiny
Guan Yuan's younger brother asked Guan Ren, "The Sima family is very kind to you, can you calculate whether you will be rich in the future?" Guan Ren said: "I know myself too well, but the wisdom given to me by God will not live long, I am afraid that I will not live to be 47 years old, and I will not see my daughter married, and my son marry my daughter-in-law." The younger brother was puzzled, and Guan Ren said: "This is to see the face, my face is this life number, I have given hundreds of people who are dying in my life, there is basically no mistake." That is, the second year Guan Rui died, and he died at the age of 47.
