Recently, wild animals, which rarely appear in the public eye, have sparked a lot of discussion. The "Asian elephants" that do not stop shopping and eating during the migration have also become the focus of everyone's warm attention.

In many places, there have been incidents of wild animals entering cities or human settlements. A group of Asian elephants traveled north from their hometown of Xishuangbanna and walked hundreds of kilometers into Kunming City; the Siberian tiger "Wandashan No. 1" broke into the village; three quasi-adult leopards of Hangzhou Wildlife World escaped from prison; raccoons appeared in more than 100 communities in Shanghai...

How can we understand the phenomenon of these densely occurring wild animals entering the city? What can be done to help promote the mutual adaptation and coexistence of animals and humans?

In this issue of reverse pop, we invited Wang Fang, a wildlife researcher, researcher at the School of Life Sciences of Fudan University, and doctoral supervisor, to talk with us about the changes in the relationship between animals and humans and urban space. We started with the recent frequent wildlife "coming to town" incidents, talked about the way animal protectors work, talked about climate change, ecosystems, and finally talked about the controversy between eating wild game and vegetarian food, and how to look at the concept of anthropocentrism.

It was a dry and professional chat, but surprisingly, we had an imaginative, passionate and rather moving ending. Here, we can imagine a better future for animals and people.
