The story is set in the last years of the Ottoman Turkish Empire (1922), and Bell plays Chris, an American journalist in Paris, Michael Isaac, a medical student, and Anna, the heroine, who will stage a lingering love triangle. The characters of Bell and Isaac represent the rules of the New World and the traditions of the Old World, respectively, and the collision of the two actors and the cultural symbols they carry will certainly be a major attraction of the film. Filming will begin in southern Europe this fall, including in Portugal and Spain's Canary Islands.
