In the colonial era, many colonial countries have established their own colonies around the world, they not only squeeze the labor force of the colonized, but also instill in them the idea of racial differences, so in many places have planted the seeds of racial contradictions, and these contradictions do not know when they will suddenly erupt, followed by cruel wars.
The story told in "Hotel Rwanda" is set against the backdrop of ethnic conflicts, and Belgium once forcibly divided Rwandan citizens into two races according to height and skin color, which triggered the contradiction between the two ethnic groups.
The unexpected death of the president amplifies the contradictions in an instant, thus triggering wars, while at the same time some people show the glorious side of humanity in the face of massacres.

It can be seen that Paul did not change his attitude towards the poor because of his identity and status, and then with the death of the president, the Tutsi and Hutu began a brutal war, the Hutu were quite dominant over the Tutsi, so they always had the upper hand, and many Hutu people like Paul began to persecute the Tutsi, but Paul never did.
In fact, many times the environment we are in can not be static, it may be developed towards the side that is not conducive to us, it may also be developed towards the side that is beneficial to us, and the change of the environment means that it may affect our attitude towards some things, at this time different people may make different choices, some people can not forget the original intention, some people choose to go with the flow.
In the face of such a sudden change in circumstances, Paul did not persecute others because his race was on the favorable side, but still conscientiously managed his hotel, maintained a kind and humble attitude towards everyone who passed here, and even used his own strength to rescue many Tutsis people.
When the environment changes, of course, it will be easier to go with the flow, but if the environment is developing in a bad direction, choosing to go with the flow is also choosing to give up the achievement of a better self, we only have to calm down and work hard, do not care about the changes in the external environment, in order to really make some achievements.

In this case, many people seem to forget their responsibilities, for their own interests to choose to lose the safety of others, but Paul did not, when he saw the street after group of refugees, he did not forget his responsibility, he chose to open the door of the hotel to let the refugees come to take refuge, although this may cause misunderstandings, but he did not retreat.
